I Really Did Lol

We once made the mistake of going out for a crowded Mother's Day breakfast. Since then we have usually gone out a day or two before: more often than not for breakfast. These days, we can't go in to eat anywhere, so on Saturday, I opted to visit a local food truck — for supper this time. It is a new truck to the area, specializing in Italian food.

I had gone to a different truck on the previous Saturday. It had been busy, and it took almost a half hour to get the food and be on my way. Not knowing how long it would take this time, I promised to text the lovely one on the progress of the order.

This is what ensued. I think you will figure it out as you read, but I will clarify at the end regardless. Sue and I do have difficulty in communicating, but this set a new high — or perhaps a low.

To explain: sometimes, when Sue gets a message on her watch, she sees the penultimate one. In this case it was a text from two days prior: "Sha will be coming within the next hour." She saw that first and not the latest text, which was "Maybe 10 minutes."

I really did lol at the time and again just now.

This is a story to chuckle along with you. I've chuckled at a food truck taking up residence just outside of the designated parking lot for the vaccine clinic & oh the line up!

Thanks for the link to ordering the butterfly masks - what a selection!

We have some of those conversations out loud! Dan doesn't hear as well as he should and I use pronouns assuming he knows who or what I'm referring to.

i had the same problem...but learned now to make sure it is a new text.

There are many cellphone texting memes out on the internet and it is always a cheek stretching affair to read through them.

We are like you and Sue. We often go out the week afterwards for our celebration of events to avoid the crowds, even pre-pandemic.

My phone did the same thing to me this morning. Then when I put the dang thing down, it thought I should phone a facetime to the person I was engaged in texting...who doesn't have facetime on her phone...but when I tried to turn that off, it thought I should make a voice text...and of course I told it what I thought of that, out loud no less. But I didn't send that text! Ha! I beat the machine 2 out of 3!

Good plan, truly funny. My two sons and I went out for lunch the day before Mom's Day. Much better than on Sunday. :-)

There have been several times that a daughter and I have texted at cross purposes, thinking we were referring to something different. Funny! Glad you got it figured out. I don't like crowded Mother's Day lunches either and usually did a brunch at my house.

It is hilarious!

That's pretty funny. I don't text enough for something like that to happen to me. Now just watch: it will. :-)

After all that confusion I was confused too ... so I went back to your post of the tulip photos. That made me say "AHHHH", so lovely and no confusion there.

So did I, ROTHFL!

Aha! A common occurance over here, too--failures to commuinicate--LOL! Sometimes it is due to spellcheck or the phone not understanding what I said. ;)

Date and time. Vital info. I do the same thing as Sue far too often. Yeah, funny. Sometimes.

The automatic word making can be a horror as well! You write food, but IT thinks you want to write fool. Whole new questions and problems arising!

OH YES, this happens to us quite often too since we both have Apple Watches. Problem with Apple Watches is sometimes I don't feel it buzz and wearing a watch stops the iPhone from pinging.
