I want to write a little more about COVID because, among other things, I just have to post this commercial. I tell ya, it caused the eyes to start leaking. If you haven't seen it, it's a take on how we might feel post pandemic. I know it won't truly be over for awhile, if ever, but you know what I mean. I reccomend, clicking on YouTube and then watching full screen.
We deserve the boost that the video gives, especially here. After most Canadian provinces ranked below (which is better) that most US states for so long, Alberta has grabbed top spot in case rate (which is bad). Ontario is not far behind. Sadly.
Vaccines are beginning to arrive fast enough that we may be able to move up the scheduling of the second dose.
And my grandkids will be eligible for the Pfizer because they are both 12 or over. Yay!
Thanks for sharing that video - yah we need that hope right now.
ReplyDeleteI have friends & family in Alberta & I am so disappointed in their behaviour & attitude during the last 15 months.
Hope is a song a bird sings when it feels dawn's light even though it is still dark ...
The video is a tear jerker alright.
ReplyDeleteHere on PEI we have been lucky. While my husband and I haven’t been around people other than our own family, we have been with family unless the province is in lockdown. We were never restricted from the trails for walking or hiking and didn’t require masks for being there. We were never close to others when we did so. Compared to much of the rest of the country, we have been lucky. We had two cases yesterday, related to travel. We’ve had two hospitalizations with one of those in intensive care, both later released from hospital.
The province is closed basically and any cases due to travel are strictly followed and contact tracing is carefully done. We have been protected well by public health and the government so far. I hope we can get through the worst of this until we are all doubly vaccinated. My husband and I have had one shot so far.
Great and silly video. I've had lunch with friends almost every week for the last couple...outside on patios. Wear masks inside, and still very few allowed inside. But our governor has said June 1 there will be full capacity allowed indoors. Over half of us are now vacinated, whew! Hope you all can get out again with friends and relations soon.
ReplyDeleteThis video made me smile more than weep. They must have spent a fortune with that huge cast. My fellow Americans are also split on the vaccine and that makes me so sad and mad and worried as it does our entire health community.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the first maybe 15 seconds of that commercial a couple times already and it never made a lot of sense to me but now that I've seen the entire thing, it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you Canadians. You saved a lot of lives but are now paying the price while things are quickly returning to normal down here at the cost of needless deaths.
You were right. What a tear jerker! I so want to be able to travel again, even come to Canada after all you're just north of our NH border now.
ReplyDeleteGotta love that commercial for chewing gum. And all that kissing? Whoa!!! Congratulations on the increased number of vaccinations.
ReplyDeleteI'm discouraged about the lack of vaccination among Americans but have done what I can do to stay safe and keep others that way. WA isn't doing very well right now, after being one of the best. It's frustrating.
ReplyDeleteThat is fun!
ReplyDeleteOne of our grandies is over 12!
The crazies will have to find something else to mock or lie about!
Did you hear about the 34 cases in the Kingston contractors site? We have hda Perth contractors there.
"Any construction or trades workers in LGL who have worked at any construction site in Kingston since April 26th are advised to get tested for COVID 19. This is asymptomatic surveillance due to an outbreak and frequent movement between jobs. Details here: https://bit.ly/3tgVwXu"
It still feels like this is going to go on and on.
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad welive here in Grey-Bruce!
ReplyDeleteWe need normal, but it's not happening down here. Yet.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous video. Marvelous you too.
ReplyDeleteThat video is hilarious. Fortunately we haven't descended that deep over here, even though numbers were and are still very high.
ReplyDeleteIt's about the hair - still chuckling. Although I must say that I have had a sort of worrying thought about how they made that video with the constraints still in place. Massive community spread.
ReplyDeleteYou do find some wonderful stuff. The best news I have had this week is that the university that has accepted our soon-to-be eighteen year old grandkid is prepared to vaccinate her if she has not had her shots in time before she arrives at her residence. Not sure where they expect to get the vaccine, but they sure do have their priorities in line with mine.
The video made me smile and giggle and laugh more than tear up, but it was great! We are on the cusp of change. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the video. It certainly made us smile. I can't wait for normality to return.
