Snow and Stew

Danica and her stepmom made turkey stew. S-mom brought us a dish for supper.

Lacey has an outlook (and sleeping) post by the window in my den.

When I am puttering in my den in the evening, of course I pull the blinds. But when it is bedtime, I try to remember to lift them for Lacey in case she wants to keep an eye on the neighbourhood during the night.

This is what I saw when I raised the blinds for her on Tuesday night.

Yes, m'darlins, that is snow. Snow an April 14, and it also snowed a bit the next day, the 15th. I include a very short clip. (Blogger videos always come in small, but they can be enlarged for viewing.)

The morning view: there wasn't a ton of white, but still, April 15, with a high temperature of only 4C/39F for the day. Sigh.

For something to do, I made a composite of a few of the selfies from the past month. As you well know by now, we have many, so I will be likely to do one or two more collages in the fullness of time.

And . . . the daily selfie.

  1. We had a very brief snowfall event as well, but it will be totally gone within the next hour. The turkey stew looked delicious, can you share? Today's selfies were my favorite so far.

  2. Snow making its final showing for the season, right? I also like today's selfie. That's some tongue, AC. :-)

  3. Daughter in Buffalo had snow yesterday too. It's cold here but no snow.

  4. Ah, you do live where it snows a lot, poor dears. I like the doggy poses today. Cats I think you may have already done... Lacey does have the best view of the world, especially since she's got a cushion to sleep upon a windowsill!

  5. We too had snow on those days.... so stressful (for me) to try to run in it because I fear slippery spots (I would normally run at the fitness center track on snowy days.).

It is odd having to cut parts of the lawn each sunny day and then have snow on days in-between.

  6. By night, the snow looked really beautiful, falling. There's something almost mystical about it. I hope your cat enjoyed it! Love the selfies.

  7. That turkey stew looks pretty darned good. We had a dusting of snow too, but nothing serious. There is not of a trace of it now.

  8. We have chilly weather but no snow--though there was a bit at some of the higher eleations. That last photo of you and your tongue is a little disturbing. ;-)

  10. That's a very nice video of the falling snow. I last saw snow when I lived in New York in 1975.

  15. I actually love watching snow come down and how clean the earth looks with a layer of fresh snow. Never lasts long this time of year, though. Such cute selfies! :)
