Two photos from a wee stroll on the trail with Sue. They are not photographically special but just meant to just show what is going on around here these days. They are all phone photos, but I do like the first one. A decent sky does help.
I think the flowers maybe hydrangeas, but I am not sure. If they are, I had no idea that they lasted this long. The second photo was taken very close by the first and looks through a gap on the opposite side of the trail across the river to Glen Isle.
I really like your river through the trees photo - another great calendar pick! Well done.
ReplyDeleteIncredible that your boy is working…where did the time go?
ReplyDeleteTwo very nice photos, and I too like the second one very much. Congrats to JJ. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think those are PG (peegee?) hydrangeas, which tend to be more white in the summer and turn pink as the season wanes. They last quite awhile and have that longer shape versus the rounder ones. It's a beautiful shot -- you're right about the sky!
ReplyDeleteYay for JJ! Hope he enjoys his job. Phones seem to have a lens which amplifies things right in the center, then curves back to have more coverage. I dare say you know camera terms for lenses like that. It's kind of making a scene (or a person) a bit convex. Noses are often out of proportion to faces.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the hydrangeas are in a sheltered spot. They seem to be flowering late, very welcome.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work, JJ! For sure he will acquit himself with distinction. WOW I am taken with those flowers in the first shot, which do resemble hydrangeas but I have never seen a cone-shaped hydrangea bloom; aren't they always more or less spherical? I don't have that plant identifier app on my phone or I'd settle it and be a clever clogs, but I'll let someone else do it. At any rate they are gorgeous. And I never get tired of a fall shot with one flaming tree in the distance. Well done. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy mom's hydrangeas still look beautiful. One of them seems to have changed color though. (from blue to plum) I love that second photo! Your grandson appears very grown up. It happens so fast!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute boy. Good luck to him.
ReplyDeleteLove the 2nd shot too.
ReplyDeleteThe store is lucky to have such a good employee as JJ.
Lovely blooms.
ReplyDeleteLovely hydrangeas! The second photo is wonderful and I'd pick it as my fave of the two.
ReplyDeleteBe well!
I like your photos quite a lot. A very pleasant visit and good luck to the young one!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers look fantastic. Got a great light purple, pink hue to them.
ReplyDeleteI love the composition of the second shot.
ReplyDeleteSimple they may be but they are wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteYou've got to bee out to catch the good shots. You're out there with your eyes wide open.
ReplyDeleteCorrection! Those MIGHT be Pg hydrangeas but more likely limelight hydrangeas. (They look similar! To me, at least!_)
ReplyDeleteIt might be a snowball bush, but probably too big.
ReplyDeleteGosh, yesterday he was pedalling his kiddy car.
Your second shot is a fall classic.
Those hydrangea-like flowers are near to my home too. I don't know the name. May be the same family as hydrangeas.
ReplyDeleteThat sky looks quite formidable. It's definitely the first thing I noticed about the photo.
ReplyDeleteLilac hydrangea, I have been told. I am hoping to find some!
