The Helpers

Shauna and the kids are in Mexico today, treating themselves to a week at a resort. Apparently, the kids will go to great lengths to escape our requests for their help in the garden. It is the time of year to pull weeds that survived the winter, and we have asked for their assistance twice already.

On the last Saturday in April, JJ came by on his own to help with the front patch.

Nine days later, on a much warner day, they both came early for family dinner to work on the backyard before the meal.

  2. I suspect this post was a lighthearted tongue-in-cheek comment, AC, rather than a serious rebuke at the grands not being around to weed pull. Because as we all know, the weeds will still be there when the grands return.

  5. School's out already? Nice to have free laborers though I guess you do have to feed them.

  6. I don't think weeding is anyone's idea of fun, but they seem to be diligently facing those weeds. Hope they have a good vacation.

  7. I used to enjoy weeding, back when I could sit on the ground with some expectation of being able to get back up.

  8. A good enough help from the grands, and they surely have a good rest and relaxation in hand as reward!

  10. My nephew is helping my mom with weeds and lawn mowing which is great. I have enough to keep me busy at my own house! Glad that the grands are dealing with the weeds...whenever they can. :)

  16. How come you're so lucky to get help with weeds?

  17. It's awful when we can't get down or back up again. The weeds will still be there when the trip is done.

  18. Ha Ha ... such a crew to have help with the weeds. You must pay well, a week rest at a resort.
