For three or four years preceding the plague that began in 2020, the cadets would hold an all-night vigil at the cenotaph on the eve of Remembrance Day. This year, I was pleased and touched to see them back.
Two cadets at a time, stand on either side of the monument. After awhile there is a changing of the guard, and the two who were on duty go into a building to take a break and warm up. Fortunately, the weather wasn't bitter last night, but it most certainly has been.
These were the cadets who were keeping the vigil whilst I was there.
As I was walking away, I captured a final image of just the moon and sky. The sky wasn't really that colour, but I had the camera set to a tungsten white balance, and this is how it looked to the camera.
In other years, when I set up the tripod, I got brighter and higher quality images. These were dark and noisy, but I am somewhat happy that I did it this way, for life isn't always perfect, and it most certainly wasn't and isn't for soldiers in wartime.

I can't believe I missed all these posts! We've been a little stressed. That swear jar should be full. This gun range is driving us to distraction. We're fighting with people who want to make it on the news. sigh.
