Mothers Day in the Garage

Mothers Day witnessed another garage celebration. Once again we set up 5 lawn chairs at appropriate distances. The kids were close together by the door. Sue and I were close together by the inside door. Shauna had the spot in the middle. Shauna has to be the most isolated as she is living on her own these days. Hopefully, she'll feel free to have her kids back in another week or so as restrictions are beginning to loosen.

This isn't the best picture, but you can see the setup. I am shooting from behind Danica's chair while she and JJ are at the table. Sue is at the back, and you can see my chair beside her. Shauna is in the middle at an appropriate distance from all, at least when we are all sitting. We did the best we could.

Looking the other way, from my seat. I didn't get a proper shot of the whole setup as I was focusing on Shauna opening her card, so you can only see JJ's feet.

Closeups of the kids.

The kids gave both Sue and their mother a potted flower. Sue's was pink. Sha's was yellow; you can see it on the table a few photos up higher in the post.

Shauna brought coffee and donuts for consumption during our get together and high tea (plus wine) as Sue's gift. After they departed we had our tea.

Hopefully, this will be the last of our garage celebrations. Nevertheless, they have been a pleasant workaround and diversion during isolation.

Such a lovely visit! I didn't realize Shauna was still in isolation. It must have been a lovely time.
JB picked up dinner for us at a local restaurant. They have been great.

Despite having to distance, it looks like your family managed a nice celebration to honor mom and grandmom. Family time is definitely different now, but definitely worth celebrating.

After you read the article at the link I posted a few minutes ago you may have second thoughts about your gathering. Hopefully no one was asymptomatic. But I envy your ability to gather in the garage.

Nice way to celebrate Mother's Day. Great to have company and good food too.

Oh, I love your tea time treats! I am drinking a nice mug of tea called "Monk's Blend" right now, though I admit to starting the day with coffee. Mmm, no donuts this morning, just the last of the English Muffins (with marmalade of course.)

What a great idea! We are getting more and more creative about getting together while maintaining safety protocols. It looks like a wonderful celebration!

This looks great. As you know, my family does some of these together-apart celebrations! It's so satisfying to see one another and be in the same space, even if not too close together.

What a nice gathering, well done! I too hope you will be able to have a normal gathering soon, and I hope for the same around here, too. :-)

Happy Mother's Day to Shauna and Sue!

Your China is very pretty, I do love the turquoise cup and saucer very much.

We are not allowed visits here in Scotland, not even distanced ones but sometimes, a friend walks past the house and stops to shout hello, which is nice.
