Mostly into the Archives

I feel like I am in a holding pattern. For one thing, I am looking forward to the isolation strings to be loosened just a little. I think it would be safe to meet with the kids as they have been isolating too, but we aren't quite there yet. Maybe next week?

I am also waiting for the wretched weather to abate a least a little and for the blossoms and trilliums to bloom. Accordingly, I have delved into the archives for photos from late last May.

But first, a couple of contemporary photos.

I worked on another Scillia photo that I took a few weeks ago.

Blossom Time is not here, but it is coming. I took this photo in St James Park last year with the former Boulton Brown Mill across the river in the background.

This reminds me that the trilliums will soon also be coming into their own. I was a little late to the party last year. I can't recall how many I photos I took, but this is the only one that I kept.

PS: I pay attention to my blogroll, but on some days I am too thick to think of a comment. This happened this morning; I was too dimwitted to come up with anything. Maybe tomorrow.

  1. The trilliums are blooming in NH. Daughter there shared photos on Instagram this week. She also spotted Dutchman's breeches and some unknown wildflowers on a walk in the woods.

  2. We took a walk in the large city park very near the mill apts and although I took a camera along, there were no flowers except some dandelions. Even the trees are slow to show their leaves. And like you I am looking forward to better weather and more photo opps.

  3. And I'm at the other end of the flower spectrum...most have already bloomed, except Rhododendrons. And yet we're expecting a freeze tomorrow night. I already brought all my plants inside, so am sitting here surrounded by my flowers! Hope they don't mind the warm darkness for a couple of days.

  4. It's so interesting to me that you seem ahead of us in some things that bloom, and behind in others. I hope your weather improves. Ours is much colder than usual (or so I think) and I am not planting things outside yet...

  6. I find myself delving into my blog archive, too. You and I think alike. Lol.

  7. Hope your weather improves soon! Your flower photos are gorgeous, especially the one with the mill in the background. Idyllic. I'm where you are, wanting to loosen up a little and see people, but holding off a bit.

  8. I often read and don't make comments, but that seems to happen more often since lockdown. Yup--a little brain-fried. Lovely pics.
