I love crocuses, but I hadn't seen any for a few years. Then I found some by an abandoned property last year, and lo and behold, they popped up again this year.
So down lay this old man in the grass with my macro lens affixed, and he took a few photos.
That was the only photo of the yellow crocuses that turned out, but I like it. More of the blue/purple flowers came out well enough although I think the yellow was my fave.
I like the light in this photo of a single, little crocus, so perhaps it rivals the yellow crocuses. What do you think?
I think the single is my favorite. I like the addition of blades of grass, almost like little soldiers protecting the crocus.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shots!
ReplyDelete@Judy: In addition to the light, I like the grasses too.
ReplyDeleteI love crocus, especially yellow, which I don't see often. Thanks for these images.
ReplyDeleteLove all of these. The light is perfect! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteI like them all, but especially the first purple crocus picture. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese little flowers are always the most welcome signs of the arrival of warm weather. As I am partial to ghe color purple, the grouping of these blooms is my favorite in this group.
ReplyDeleteHats off to the pro who gets down on the grass to capture crocuses (crocki?) These are all calendar worthy...but those yellows are unusual to me, so that's my vote. I love the last shot, but I guess any old photographer (not me!) could have taken that, where the yellows are more unique.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow is my favourite. You should plant some bulbs next fall.
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow ones. Spring is coming afterall.
ReplyDeleteAny crocus is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have purple and white with purple veins. I've never seen yellow ones!
ReplyDeleteEvery spring I keep thinking "come fall, plant crocus bulbs." And I always forget. They're lovely -- and well captured.
ReplyDeleteOn the ground! That's aove and beyond!
ReplyDeleteNative crocuses are one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteStill waiting for Spring where I live (Northwestern Canada) but it's coming and the flowers will bloom again, thankfully.
ReplyDelete@DB: When it comes, it comes so fast.
ReplyDeleteMy yellow ones hasn't came up. All though my purple ones has.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and day.
Really well done.
