When I come across videos like this, I send them to Sue who gets a real kick out of seeing people fall. She will guffaw her way through a clip like this, but I think I had one minor giggle. Word humour is more my thing.
What about you? Does this leave you in stitches, or do you just shrug your shoulders and wonder what the fuss is about?
Not funny if the goof leaves the person hurting and most of these look as if they do.
ReplyDeleteI can certainly skip any episodes where people are hurting themselves. It was amazing how many folks sent in these videos to some "laughable moments" show on TV to win a prize. There was a little person in pink chasing a dog in the back yard which I did chuckle at. Otherwise I just was numb.
ReplyDeleteHaving slipped and fallen many times myself, I tend to sympathize rather than laugh. Unless the goof is somehow payback for bad/stupid behavior--say walking into something because they're busy texting-I'm not amused. A terrible pun though can crack me up.
ReplyDeleteSchadenfreude. Not my thing...
ReplyDeleteI chuckled a couple of times, but groaned when I saw what looked like a very painful fall on one's back! I also like the guy who found the sidewalk slippery, but what the heck is he doing getting in a car to drive away? :-)
ReplyDeleteSorry but these clips were not humorous at all for me. I actually winced quite a few times and only watched the first 30 seconds or so. I am more with you on the word humor, AC.
ReplyDeleteI can feel most of those falls. I can’t watch them.
ReplyDeleteToo painful to watch.
ReplyDeleteI had to stop watching. Not funny at all for me.
ReplyDeleteI quit after the mother with the baby. Not funny.
ReplyDeleteNope, not my kind of humor. Taken too many falls over the years myself.
ReplyDeleteAs long as I'm sure that the people didn't get hurt. Otherwise, I don't like falling videos. I'm always terrified when I fall. (and look ridiculous)
ReplyDeleteSome of those falls look painful! Being prone to falls, I am not amused by other people falling but I have quite a childish sense of humour. My friend and I couldn't stop giggling the other day when a server in an outdoor venue arriving with a selection of puddings shouted "who has the Spotted Dick?". This by the way is a traditional British pudding, steamed and made with suet and dried fruit and I hope you don't feel offended by the rude word (the pudding is really called that).
ReplyDeleteYes some of them don't look so funny. I'm sorta in the middle!
ReplyDeleteAlas I have to get to work without watching this video, but will admit: I have never cracked a smile while watching Mr Bean, while everyone else is laughing their asses off. I do not get it at all. -Kate
