All of our other C-shots have been Pfizer, but booster 3 was Moderna. I have heard that this combination can have more after-effects although I have possibly heard incorrectly.
I was very tired on the following morning, especially considering I had one of my better sleeps the night before. Actually, I had two consecutive very good — for me — sleeps, at least one of which may have been more than 7 hours. In any case, I seemed to perk up around noon, so that's not bad. I also don't even know if the extra tiredness was an after-shot effect, because I am pretty sure we all are subject to fluctuations of energy.
My injection site may have been a little sorer than after some the previous shots, but the soreness was only at the injection site and didn't spread throughout the arm or body.
Sue also experienced more weariness than usual and felt that her joints were achier and stiffer than normal. She also slept more than usual, but that is hard to tell that too because that also fluctuates. Now that the sun rises later, and especially since we have been having dull mornings, she is tending to sleep longer regardless.
However much sleep Sue now requires, I must say that things have changed since her infancy. If you believe her mother, (and who could ever doubt?), Sue was, apparently, not disposed to sleep much when she was an infant. In point of fact, I heard her mother once declare that Sue didn't allow them to get one wink of sleep for 5 years. She really said this and I'll have you know that she was never known to exaggerate.
I don't think records were as big a thing in those days, or this feat surely would have made it into Guinness World Records.
Moderna had me wiped out the second time around, about 24 hours of low energy.
ReplyDeleteRick had Moderna once without I’ll effect. He sleeps well all the time though.
ReplyDeleteJB had his. I threw up that morning, due to the stress around this gun range, and rescheduled mine, just in case.
ReplyDeleteMy third booster was Moderna after all my others being Pfizer. I had a really sore arm and some tiredness, otherwise it was pretty similar. Glad you got it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got some good sleep -- and two nights! sorely needed, from what you've said before and it makes such a difference. I haven't been sleeping well with my pneumonia and last night finally did get a bit more and boy, it helped this morning! Maybe the shot is worth it, just for that(apart from the other benefits!)
ReplyDeleteI switched the other way, have had all Moderna up till this 3rd booster for Omicron variant, it was Pfizer. Sore arm for all shots. Nothing different about sleep, though I'm having some other things change my sleep patterns lately. It will all settle out in the end, or not!
ReplyDeleteDan just got his third booster this morning. later we will both go for flu shots. I can't have the booster until November because I had Covid and must wait three months.
ReplyDeleteBoth of my kids evidently didn't require much sleep growing up though they did sleep through the night very early as infants. Our pediatrician told us to wake them up and feed them until three months but we never did. They turned out alright. Our 16 yo now finally will sleep in on weekends but I suspect it is more because she stays up later than actually sleeping more hours.
ReplyDeleteI had three Pfizers and the 3rd one gave me some chills and malaise which were gone the next morning. My 4th was Moderna and I didn't have any side effects. I'll get my Omicron booster in mid October and I'm not sure which one I'll go for. Probably whatever they have available!
ReplyDeleteI have had only 1 Booster and have decided to forgo other Boosters. Just don't believe in them. I believe in MASKS not Boosters.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not one or the other, and it is not about belief. Science supports both. You can and should do both.
ReplyDeleteI'm not due for my 3rd booster for a while but have had all Pfizer up until now and just had a sore arm each time. I'm still masking inside too.
ReplyDeleteI've had four and will take more if offered.
ReplyDeleteThis shot had more side effects. The Micro Manager was pretty sore the day after.
ReplyDeleteFamily stories are things to treasure.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shot info. We are booking shortly. Or should I say 'shotly'. (Sorry)
Pfizer didn't have much of an effect on me but the Moderna boosters tired me out for a couple of days although Art was hardly affected at all. I'm waiting to get the Moderna shot in late October since we've got a trip coming up next spring.
