If I may return to our breakfast out, I confess that I disdain, the token addition of the orange slices.
I do like and eat oranges, but those puny slices just don't fit on that plate, and they really bug me.
At home, I normally have a somewhat healthy breakfast. For example, today it was oatmeal with blueberries and an extra spoon of bran. I also had orange juice.
When we go out for breakfast every other blue moon or so, I am just looking for scrumptiousness.
Flame and/or disown me if you wish, but that is how I feel about things. 🤪🤣
This is yet another hill that I am willing to die on — maybe literally eh, if I eat too many breakfasts like that one.😎
You sound like my husband. He eats healthily but for the occasional meal out, all bets are off.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, you have a whole geographic region if hills to die on, pick your hill!
ReplyDeleteMine are more esoteric, usually involving grammar and usage.
I used to feel the same as you about the sliced oranges. However, a friend brought me breakfast while I was sick. The best scrambled eggs ever...and half an orange sliced, and some other stuff. But those two parts of the breakfast stuck with me, as being deliciously different and entirely satisfying. I'll have other crosses to bear for food oddities, so you don't have me joining you on this one. I like me eggs next to some orange slices!
ReplyDelete@Barbara. I don’t need company. Alas, my journey is a unique and solitary one. My dance is my own, done to a different drummer.
ReplyDeleteAre they just a garnish? I would have an issue if the juice seeped into the rest of my meal. I like oranges but not as part of a savory dish.
ReplyDeleteI agree with passing on the orange slices. Totally!
ReplyDeleteI never eat orange slices when they are presented like that. I'm not much on fancy breakfasts, either, but yours does look good, even if the eggs were not done properly. :-)
ReplyDeleteI seem to like fruit only when it is sliced nicely for me. I forget to eat it when it is whole. I also like a high calorie breakfast when I eat out.
ReplyDeleteSince the girls were here so often, I was vigilant about them having fruit with breakfast. Now, it's just a habit for me, as well. I've been lax about that most of my life!
ReplyDeleteI adore Eggs Benny.
JB went into town early yesterday morning and brought us home a brekkie. A 3-egg omelette, with all the fixin's. Yummy and it lasts me two meals!
I am with you on that one, not keen on decorative fruit. I wouldn't mind having an orange the side or for desert, but sliced in a way that is more amenable to eating.
ReplyDeleteI'm indifferent to oranges in general.
ReplyDeleteJust enjoy it but I hope you don't die!
ReplyDeleteIf anything can come contaminated from the kitchen it's fruit slices. Beware lemon slices on water glasses.
ReplyDeletepotatoes does look good.

Waffle House doesn't put foo-foo stuff on your plate. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI love the orange slices when they are hearty and thick so you can actually enjoy them. I've been on a big orange kick of late! Grab 'em while they're good!
