Third Park Visit after a Ten Month Hiatus

Sisters

It has been almost 10 months since we saw Sue's sister, and we convened in the same way once again, by meeting in a village halfway between our two domiciles. It's 4 hours of driving (2 each way) for a 4 hour visit, but it fills a need.

For my record as much as anything here are the links to our previous get-togethers: August 2020 and September 2020

It was necessary to meet outside during the earlier phases of the pandemic, but now that the 3 of us are fully vaxxed, that is no longer the case. However, it is a convenient workaround when longer drives and visits would be problematic due to both time and circumstance. We get to have a nice visit in a pleasant park without it involving a huge investment in time or travel for any of us.

The format was the same: meet in the village for coffee and bathroom and repair to the park where we pull out the lawn chairs and, in due course, sandwiches.

Callie came too. Of course, she did.

There is a chip truck at the park, so we indulged. Thankfully, they were not the huge portions that I have featured in several recent posts.

Although it is a nice park on a pretty lake, I knew from experience that midday photos don't work too well here. Besides, it is a time for a visit and not for a photoshoot. But I took one anyway.

Sue tried to kill 2 birds with 1 photo, as it were, by getting both me and some of the park in the frame.

In parting, here is another picture of the 2 ladies: sister Heather on the left and Sue on the right, in case you don't know.

I do wish that Sue wasn't wearing sunglasses in almost all outdoor photos, but she is extremely light-sensitive and is seldom without them, and we both tend to forget about them. I shouldn't forget because I am looking at her after all, but I also hesitate to ask her to remove them even when I do happen to think of it.

Lovely sisters, and park too. You're lovely too! I get a kick out of our language differences...and we live on the same side of the big pond...but a chip here is a very thin flattish thing, either corn or potato, while a French Fry is what you all were eating. They're sometimes just called Fries here. Oh isn't it grand to be able to share so much. I brought home some tortilla chips from my fav. Mexican restaurant and again they are flat thin fried things.

The sisters look a lot alike. It looks like the drive was well worth it.

Oh, I just love these photos of the two sisters. What a nice visit at the park!

I like the format to meeting in a park partway. I would do that except most of my immediate family lives a long days drive away so even meeting in the middle would be a long day not counting the visit in the park.

That park is beautiful and the sisters look so much alike. I'm sure they hear that a lot! I like meeting up with people halfway, although mine are usually 20 minutes driving each way.

It was the BEST. Spending time with you two is just the BEST!

And in answer to your comment over on my blog...in case you don't go over there to see it,
Ha ha...you're right on about the Fry Trucks...I immediately think of garbage trucks.

You Look good in your red shirt! Did you wear it specifically for the photos?

And, you know, without sunglasses she probably would need to squint.

I have always loved that park. It was my 'destress the daughters' stop on the Toronto to Ottawa and return. But yes, the sun is not in a convenient place for pics, mostly. I have none.
I always thought that one day I would stop at the motel overnight. Never happened.
Sigh.
I love the dog close-up. And your lady and her sister are always so beautifully dressed and phot-op perfect. Sunglasses and all.
