I am not in a particularly posty sorta mood and was going to let it slide again today, but I just came across this, and had to break down and post of this very weird event. Do you think it will work? I'll let you know from my point of view if it does.
They say that prayer changes things, but, since I am here anyway, I decided to share the following image showing the very real change in where the sun rises (or sets) throughout the year. These images were taken from the same spot. I hadn't realized that the change throughout the year is quite so dramatic.
Waiting to hear myself shout out "Hallelujah, I BELIEVE!"
ReplyDeleteI love your series of sunrises.
I consider myself agnostic. I have a lot of issues with organized religion.
ReplyDeleteI happily belong to a non-creedal religion...Unitarian Universalist...where we don't even use the G-- word most of the time. That was a bit funny to have prayers for those who don't pray...how silly. Thanks for the wonderful sunrise photos, which I never would get up to see, but glad that some sleepy eyed photographer did!
ReplyDeleteIt's on my birthday, but I won't be participating. Those comparison photos are very interesting.
ReplyDeleteWell, prayer may not change the world, but it does help to bring peace of mind. Glad to see that your grandkids got their shots. And that lawn chair looks good, but too low to the ground for me.
ReplyDeleteHmm .. don't know if that will work but makes them feel good. Though I identify as a Christian I won't be joining that effort. Each to his/her own.
ReplyDeleteLove the montage of the sun (really earth's) movement through the year.
No.
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing montage. Love it.
I live near a sect that flew in something like several hundred yogi's from Indian who pray for world peace in a fenced in compound 24/7/365 and have been doing so for at least 20 years. I'm still waiting for results.
ReplyDeleteWell, you caught my attention and got me thinking. I prefer the sunrise.
ReplyDeleteGreat set of images! I tried to do that once, but I just had a few random sunrise shots.
ReplyDeleteNicely done!
ReplyDeleteI'm turned off religion. So awful.
Seems like a waste of a global prayer. Why don't they pray for peace? Being an atheist doesn't mean you aren't an ethical person. Perhaps atheists are more ethical because their actions are not motivated by the fear of a vengeful god or the promise of heaven.
ReplyDeleteThose sunrise / sunset photos are fascinating!
Nope, not going.
ReplyDeleteI could not be relied upon to take a series of sunrise photos. Sunset, maybe.
Cool photos!
ReplyDeleteLove those images! Great series!
