Warm March Day and Hot Fries

Not everyone would drive 40k/25mi for french fries,

But when it is a beautiful day in March, and we are celebrating Sue's birthday, and when they are the best fries, and when it is the only chip truck open so early in the season, we would. And did.

Wes' Chips is just a little cabin on the way into Arnprior. It has the remnants of a truck attached to it, but the cabin part is quite tiny.

I am at the back of the line but with 4 workers inside the little cabin, it moves very quickly

The fries come very hot, so we had time to drive to a park overlooking the Ottawa River.

The river still has a lot of ice.

It was warm enough for me to wander about sans coat or jacket.

How unusual and pleasant to spend some time sitting on a bench so early in the year. Of course, the warm weather won't stay, but an unseasonal spell like this sometimes occurs in March, and it is quite wonderful and deeply appreciated when it does happen.

What a lovely way to spend a warm (for this time of year) sunny day. French fries are a gift from the Gods.

funny, my walking buddy was talking about French Fries yesterday, and we ended up eating pizza in my car. We mainly couldn't decide which Fries place to go to so the pizza (and a salad on my part) was the answer. We'd done our walk first. I love the photo of the river with a tiny little person in red next to it.

French fries have always been take it or leave it for me. However I would drive a pretty mile for a good burger.

Your wife looks very stylish in her outfit. The views of the river are quite amazing. You won't see ice here in Hawaii. Haha.

Sorry for the “R” in the above.... I was teasing as I had commenting failure again.

.... Good fries are always a fun treat! I actually really like the box the fries came in too! The very pretty “sage” color seems a little “exotic” for fries..... but it is a neat package!!!!

“Teasing” was meant to be “testing”. Sigh.... if the comment doesn’t submit it is usually grammatically sound.... then I redo it fast and miss some damn autocorrected word that sounds foolish! :)

That is beautiful sky and the sun is shining! WOOHOO!! I don't know that I would drive that far for fries, not being a fry sort of person. Now, for tater tots I probably would!!

Wes Fries are THE BEST. We would make it a destination too, then go to the riverside park. I thought they were closing so your post is a pleasant surprise. I need to give my Mr. a poke to go for a drive.

Sure, I understand perfectly that you would drive a distance for fries, especially when they are Sue’s favorite and a birthday treat. As you well know from our blog, we have been known to drive distances for ice cream treats. Our weather has also been pleasantly mild with some ice on the water in places we’ve been too.

Sure looks like it has been a very successful couple of birthday days indeed. Those fries look delicious, too! :-)
