We turned off concession 7b onto Bellamy Mills Road. This is also an autumn drive that we've repeated for the past few years. It's different from 7b, at least in the first section — quite tree-lined and shady. This is a somewhat typical section.
Aside from the occasional glimpse like the one above, most of the colour was off to the sides, where background trees were catching the light behind the shadier foreground trees. Although it was brilliant to see, I don't find it easy to capture in a photograph, but, with the help of post editing to balance the light and shade, one does try one's best to share the local geography with others.
This is another photo looking into the bush with the orange trees being well backlit.
Coming around a bend, a single tree caught my eye.
We are blessed with these lovely canopies!

So pretty! I love them all.
ReplyDeleteOOoh, you found a dead tree with it's sculpture. But the last is my fav. Of course I've got cataracts, so you could probably draw with crayons and I'd like it!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a glorious time of year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours.
ReplyDeleteI love those backlit trees! Photo #2 is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteLove these Autumn colour in your exploration. Beautiful captures as usual
ReplyDeleteThe golden glow is good for the soul!
ReplyDeleteI miss it here this year. Fiona shredded the leaves.
Great photos.
A lot of variation in what you've picked out.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting in the woods was just beautiful. You captured it well.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful time of the year.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos!
All beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful excursion in which you have showcased some beautiful colors of autumn, John. There has been a couple of days of rain and some wind here, which will either result in a few more days of foliage or will have dispersed some of the leaves.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing leaves and flowers with sunlight coming through them.
