Book Talk in a Snowstorm

I'm pretty sure that it happens every April – s snowstorm, I mean. They're not all truly storms, but whatever they deserved to be called, they are not wanted in April.

I have told you that Heather is here this week to travel hither, thither and yon to discuss Cracked Pots. Tuesday was her day to be at our local library, and that was the snowy day. If any day had to be snowy, and apparently one day did, it's a good thing that it was for Heather's most local gig.

When we got to the library, I took some photos through their windows and must remind myself that this is a pretty good vantage point – much better than from our abode, for sure.

By the next day, it was gone, and it we were to enjoy some pretty nice weather, which I expect will be the subject of tomorrow's post. Meanwhile, Heather's talk was brilliant. here are a few photos: some Sue's, ssome mine.

  1. The last photo of the sisters is quite lovely. A good turn out at the library for the in person chat.

  2. I know this is an odd comment, but both of these ladies have such lovely hair! Some days just flow. Love that photo of the snow and last of the leaves hanging on.

  3. The brief snow was lovely and nice that it came and went so quickly. Glad that the book signing event was still held and looked like an enjoyable session. The two sisters are lovely to see together.

  4. Loved your two snow shots...the first is worthy of a frame. And it was good to see you over in the corner in one of the reading group shots. Heather and Sue look lovely together.

Snow is the best of all weather.

  6. Your snow is lovely -- pity it isn't in February instead of April but that's what we do in April! (We had a bit last Monday but it didn't stick.) You do have a fine vantage point. I'm so glad you had time to visit with Heather and that her talk went well. You must have been terribly proud!

  7. Sue and her sister, and her hair, look wonderful. That was some sticky miserable snow. We got a lot up here.

  8. Lovely shots! The snow is on its way out, as we have to keep reminding ourselves. We haven't had any for a week or so. (not that it stuck)

  9. Glad the snow didn't stop the reading!

  10. Disappointing that the crowd was small because of the storm. But then book talks usually don't have big crowds. I picked up another Patrick Taylor to read.

  11. Is the book doing well, sales-wise? Is she pleased?

I am glad the book talk went well, even with smaller crowds than anticipated.

  12. I don't remember ever having snow in April when I was a child and living in Montreal. April (and Easter in particular) was warm. I'm talking about the 50's. Seemed we played skipping from morning until night on weekends and all through Easter weekend (unless it came early in March).

Could be wrong, but I do think weather patterns have shifted considerably.

Lovely photos, especially the last one. So pleased for Heather to have given her talk. It takes courage to stand up in front of people and present, and doubly so if you're concerned about the weather.
    Well done!
