The tamarack (larch) trees are about the only leaf colours remaining at the park. They are the one conifer that will change colour and eventually drop their leaves.
Not that I am exactly wishing for winter, but snow on these trees can be pretty to see.
Meanwhile, temperatures will remain close to 20C for 3 more days in this very unusual, November warm spell.
The golden foliage may be the final vestige of autumn and is a wonderful show off against the water. After reading yesterday’s post, did you remain safely on land for these shots?
ReplyDelete😊 I took tamarack photos yesterday. They are charged now too. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteNice quiet photos...though the first one invites me into seeing all the differences of distance.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your first picture. It's nice to not always see a riot of color ... just enough soft coloration placed artistically. You, as I've said so often, have a wonderful photographic eye.
ReplyDeleteTHat is a really beautiful photo, the contrast between the bright yellow spiky tree and the icy-blue rippling water is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is very pretty. Let's see what it looks like when the snow falls.
ReplyDeletePretty snaps. Although Autumn is my favorite season, I do appreciate the beauty of winter too.
ReplyDeleteSpring and fall in Illinois were always my favorite time of year. It's always when we like to travel... when we could travel, that is.
ReplyDeleteOoohh, those trees are so pretty! :-)
ReplyDeleteI suppose somewhere in science class I learned about the Larch tree and that it dropped its needles but I had completely forgotten about it again until now. What a beautiful picture!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful trees! Many of our leaves have dropped as well as our temperatures. My daughters back East are enjoying an unusual 70 degrees whereas here it's 50/30. Not fair!!
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying the weather, too.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSince the tamaracks are they they really stand out.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I find yellow leaved trees so cheerful in the fall.
ReplyDeleteThese are glorious!
ReplyDeleteTamaracks are quite wonderful. There are already large flocks of redpolls around this year and they favour Tamarack cones so keep a close eye on the trees.
