It is the town's third annual Pride Week, which always begins with the raising of the flag at town hall.
All were masked and pridefully festooned.
One lady was really in her element. I wonder who she could be?
Sue had decorated our hats in preparation.
So, we were all ready for the event.
We stopped on the way home at Linda's house for these prideful pics. She is the town councillor with the incredible hat and outfit in the third photo from the top. Linda has much to do with the spirit of the community.
Due to conditions beyond our control, celebrations will be limited this year. There is one other event planned; we shall see how it goes.
I don't know if our new home town does anything for Pride week. In Columbia there was a fair but I think it was in June. Maybe Pride celebrations are timed differently where ever you live.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun was had by all!
ReplyDeleteWonderful celebration of love, in all it's many colorful forms. My lesbian friends who've lived together for many years, were so happy to become legally married a few years ago when the Supreme Court ruled so. We (my church's members) take part in Gay Pride week annually, and held in Asheville, NC, it is usually very well attended.
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful. Your community has a great spirit!
