It's an auspicious day! Five years after publishing her loved and acclaimed Clay Girl novel, my fabulous sister-in-law, Heather, is releasing the sequel, Cracked Pots.
When we left Ari five years ago, she was on the train with Mikey on her way back to Toronto from Cape Breton to resume her challenging life with her mother and her partner. Although the story sounds grim when described in short blurbs, those who have read Clay Girl can testify that Ari is a positive and refreshing person who is growing into a beautiful human being. People loved reading the uplifting story of Ari Appleton in Clay Girl.
Many years ago, I read the draft version of Cracked Pots and came under Ari's and Heather's spell, and I am sure that the published version will also be a shine a wondrous light upon us.
I must admit, I want to read both of them! So next time I'm in my independent bookstore...I'll order them. How fun, especially with my pottery background. Yes, AC, I now understand your comment yesterday!
ReplyDeleteWatched the videos and I'm intrigued. I may ask my library to purchase them.
ReplyDeleteThe videos are great! I have a birthday soon. Books are on the wish list!
ReplyDeleteI am backlogged on books right now but am interested in pursuing the series. It looks intriguing and sounds well-written.
ReplyDeleteBravo to her!
ReplyDeleteHow can it have been five years? Yikes. So glad the next iteration is out.
