Jonathan is Twelve Years Old

Jonathan celebrates his 12th birthday today. He was born in record-breaking time. We got the call in the middle of the night and drove over to the house. Sue went to the hospital with Sha and Eric. It seemed like they were back before I knew it, and it was an out-of-town hospital too. He walked fairly young too. Not that it means anything, just as long as we all get around to it.

We haven't seen either kid since Christmas, but we had a good visit then, with sleepovers included. We will get together on some cyber platform or other when he opens his presents at Dad's house around suppertime today. We have left a photo montage and a card with Mom that he will see on the weekend. I don't think that he will see this post before then, if he sees it at all, but it won't be a major catastrophe if he does.

Last year being what it was, and also along with the kids getting older, I had fewer photos from which to choose for this year's collage, but there were enough.

The Card

Front (and back): I don't know where the extra red line came from.

Inside

For his first birthday in 2010, I did a whole first year album LINK with 24 collages. This was month five as a sample.

And . . .  few early videos from shortly after his first birthday.

  7. My oldest one for some reason didn't want to learn to walk until she was nearly 16 months old. So I had to come up with something to say when all those other parents found out she didn't know how to walk yet and there child was walking by 8 months. I said, "She isn't in a hurry and neither am I to have her ransacking the house." But she made up a bit for it in speed of learning. One day she just stood up and walked across the room and after perhaps three times that day where she fell onto her bottom, she walked every since.

  17. Sending Happy Birthday wishes to your grandson from a fellow celebrant this month. The videos and look-back photos were fun to see. Hope J.J. has as wonderful a year as possible. Our grands are aging as well, but unfortunately it's been longer since we've seen them in person (sigh).
