Conspirators Among Us

I just came across another one. It's a tweet or whatever you call it now. An X-Off maybe? Whatever the case, I can no longer resist the temptation of posting about it.

Without exaggerating, I see these sorts of posts daily – at least daily.

Apparently, we vaxxed folk are dying at such a rate that there will soon be few of us left. Our deaths must surely be in the 100s of millions by now.

Not only that, but don't you know that we shed?

Just is case you are concerned here is a link and summary from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

In sum, viral shedding is an issue when someone is infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, but not when they are vaccinated against it.

That's their summary, but you have the link, above, if you want to read the whole article.

While there are those who fret about keeping their DNA pure, I would say that it would be best not to in some cases.

What a world we live in. Good information is only a click away, but the conspirators are out their doing their thing. I just don't know why.

Evolution hit a snag. You cannot make this stuff up.

OMG! You got these people in Canada too? Dang! I thought you guys were smarter than us in the US.

Stupid people gonna stupid, and profoundly so when clicks & likes are involved.

In his book How to Think, Alan Jacobs speaks to the powerful psychology of "belonging" and "not belonging." Most humans have an overwhelming fear (sometimes subconsciously) of not belonging to the "inner ring" in any system. Jacobs uses a church as a metaphor. Surely the pastor is the obvious moral leader of the congregation, yet, as in all systems, there is a powerful "inner ring" vying for the power; they've seen pastors come and go and "this too shall pass" and this circle will "do good" as they perceive it thereby defaulting to the "inner circle" rather than a sage outside voice. Sigh.

Oh GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!
You want to give these people a good brain transplant, truly.
Dang, I am going to shed all over the place.

You just open up a world of how many nut jobs there are out there

How did we go from being thankful to lifesaving medications and vaccines to this insanity? Apparently, some want to go back to lifespans of 45 and very high child mortality. I do not.

Well, you click on one of these nuts on FaceBook, and the algorithmic gods will give you more More MORE! Heaven help you if you also click a Wow or Angry response. Me, I don't get them, don't want them, and just feel really sorry if I think hard about the creatures who created them. A good person must have compassion for the unluckiest of our kind...I think! Sometimes it's really really hard.

I don't understand these people either. There must be something in the water!!!

Oh boy. I bet they "did their own research" too. Amazing how many stupid people are out there. I guess before social media we just didn't realize how many there were!

It is simply an unfortunate dual effect if the masses being in unknowledgeable, uninterested, and fearful actual scientific understanding….. and that a majority of folks gravitate towards social media to feel a sense “belonging” to a clan or group. Before the wave of social media, the “news” we would receive as a community would be vetted by journalists, and as part of that vetting, information was corroborated by science literate advisors.

And reading these posts and the comments from saner folks just reinforce my decision to avoid social media, other than blogging. There are some folks with very questionable ideas out there.

Oh good grief! I should be expecting to drop dead any day soon then.

Sadly, I have friends and acquaintances who are deep into conspiracy theories on a myriad of topics. I despair sometimes.

Hard to believe that these people wrap their brains around these conspiracy theories. I don't understand it.

It is quite terrifying, the power of conspiracy.

Simply beyond me!

I left Twitter some time ago. I must say I don’t miss that stuff.

I actually feel bad for these folks who have been divorced from their reason and seduced down a rabbit hole. Where they support each other and detach more from the real world. It is very sad. Aloha friend

It is shocking what people believe.
Our dastardly neighbour promotes them all the time. Such ignorance.

My sister is a nurse. A NURSE. She refused the covid vaccine because "it changes your DNA". I tried to explain it to her. She got hot. She's a nurse, she explained superiorly. She knows how it works.

We don't discuss it.

I don't know how, or why it has become the 'fashion' to believe that your own personal scientific knowledge surpasses that of actual scientists.

The world is full of nuts -- and getting nuttier every single day.

Somehow I missed seeing this post, AC. These folks' teachers are probably shaking their heads in dismay. I can probably name a few of my students who would be thinking like this based on how they were in 4th grade.
