I wasn't going to do the eclipse at all, and then when I did watch it, I wasn't going to post about it. But after reading all of your posts yesterday, I decided to join the fray. It's just that I am a day late, and now no one cares. In effect, this is my life story.
I had shot the 2021 eclipse, and well, if you've seen one I figure you've seen them all. Unless, it is total, but it wasn't here.

Besides, I was disorganized this time around and didn't have glasses, and since cameras can also be damaged, I wasn't all that keen on exposing mine again.
But that morning, a neighbour brought two glasses over, so we did peek out the back a few times, and it was nice to see. Sue used the two glasses for her potd. The theme was sidelight.
I still didn't take any pictures of the event on this occasion, but we did try to take a selfie. It was hilarious. I was holding the phone and also trying to look up ↑ when Sue jabbed the the shutter.

After awhile, I convinced her to use her watch to take the photo once I was aligned.

We only had 20% coverage plus clouds, so it was a no go for us. I enjoyed seeing it all on TV. :-)
What a lovely couple of aliens...from where in outer space I wonder! Perhaps there's a planet yet to be discovered...Glad you got in on the fun Mon. I joked that of course everyone was happy to have gathered wherever, because we all were being cosmically re-set. The first person asked, and now how are we different? I replied, I don't know, because we can't remember how we were before. Just being silly.
I was hoping for a story on how the lens of one of those eclipse glasses got poked out.
I have read about camera sensors getting damaged in direct sunlight. However, I saw lots of people just pointing their cameras (phone versions) up at the sky and taking pictures without any apparent repercussions. I myself have pointed my camera at the sun to take a picture though never that high in the sky when the light is more intense and haven't had any issues. The phone seems to adjust for the light intensity automatically. Regardless, when I took my eclipse pictures, I still used the glasses as a lens filter. Better safe than sorry.
For once it was something everyone could participate in, be awed about and enjoy!
We didn't see the eclipse here. I wasn't online yesterday do yours is the first eclipse tale I've read, so you aren't a day late with me. You and Sue look like you just disembarked from the flying saucer!

I just posted on the eclipse today. My one photo had the glasses covering the lens; the other, I braved it with no cover, since I figured I'm planning to get a new camera soon! It's fun to see this!
My in-laws drove 4 hours to see the eclipse in New Hampshire and 4 hours back to their home in Massachusetts. Crazy!

I'm loving the photos of you and Sue. It's always good not to take chances with our eyes. My daughter offered her eclipse glasses to her boss before returning to work since he was just returning from a meeting elsewhere but though he looked briefly through her glasses, didn't want to take more chances.

I did see part of the eclipse as a group of us who were playing mah jongg in the library went outdoors for awhile. There wasn't any total darkness here in Nashua, NH, as I've seen in other places. I didn't even try to capture any images but just marveled at being able to see a small part. I think the selfies of you both are certainly one of a kind eclipse remembrances because as you said...if you've seen one eclipse photo, you've seen them all 😀
The squint and the open mouth say it all. We used JG's welding helmets. He has two, although on last observation, he only has one head. We got cloud just at the worst moment. I see that you at least had good sun.
