Pandemic restrictions had been loosened just enough and just in time for us to have a little family party for the grads, Jonathan and Danica.
Candid party photos are not my favourite thing, but of course I take them anyway.
I think JJ liked what he saw in the bag.
Here are the two kids together. They may have been laughing at the card that I made in which I spelled Excelence (sic ← like that) wrong. It was a a typo, I swear.
It was wonderful occasion, not only because of reason for the event, but to be able to all get together without worry after this long haul. We five adults were all completely vaccinated, and the three kids over twelve have had their first jabs. Only the youngest child was unvaccinated.
Here we are seated at the table, all but Sue who took the photo. It felt like normal times, which are worth celebrating all on their own. The two girls on either side of Danica are her step sisters, and their mother is across from JJ. Of course, that is Eric, the Dad and Shauna's former husband, at the far end.
Yes indeed, normal, except I didn't quite know how to ingest this Caesar, my one and only alcoholic drink of the occasion.
Good shots. The dog is quite zen.
ReplyDeleteLooks like this was a fun get together to celebrate these 2 milestones. Candid pics can be fun too.
ReplyDeleteFamily gatherings - yes a great time to celebrate not just graduations but coming out of the pandemic!
ReplyDeleteI love that you included the pooch in the photos. Wonderful occasion and beautiful family, AC.
ReplyDeleteSeems strange to get all the family together round the table after such a long time doesn't it???? Hopefully we will be able to do this for a long time.... no more restrictions.
ReplyDeleteFun times & how very grown up for ex & family to join in ...
ReplyDelete#6 photo of Danica is gorgeous.
That was some drink! And I laughed & laughed at the last photo of the puppydog, he/she was right into the mood of candid portraits.
Your family is so lucky to have you and your photos. I love the one of the little peek-a-boo through his hoodie and ending it all with man's best friend.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, and congratulations to the graduates, and to the photographer who did a super job capturing the event.
ReplyDeleteDanica is sure pretty. Wow! Growing up so fast. Love your photos, AC.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have that closeness of family! I do like your candid shots even if you find them taxing.

Those photos will become a family treasure. Hope you make copies for the kids. It's such a joy to see our families again.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good for the whole family to come together, even with the steps and ex-es. If you do it enough, it doesn't feel quite as weird. Nice photos too!
ReplyDeleteThose are some great shots! And how nice to have a family gathering again!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a wonderful occasion, especially meaningful because of what we've been through the past year and a half. Congrats to the family! I'm curious about your drink. Wow!
ReplyDeleteNormal is good - finally!
ReplyDeleteThese were wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the grads. :)
the dog gave you the best candid shot!
