On Thursday we seized the opportunity to get together with the kids between holidays last week with dad and holidays next week with mom.
The plan for lunch was simple: get shawarmas on main street and eat them in the patio behind town hall. We have done this once or twice in the past although I think we missed last year. It's a nice outing in a pleasant spot, and the shawarmas are very tasty.
Back at home, we played games, the first being UNO.
After several rounds, JJ spent some time on my computer while Danica and grandma made an impromptu bracelet.
The next game was Sorry, played while we consumed a healthy snack of apple slices and peanut butter.
Finally, after supper of sandwiches with ice cream bars for dessert and before driving them home, we had a game of Slides and Ladders. Whatever happened to the snakes, eh?
It was our first real visit with just the two of them since Christmas. Perhaps after their peregrinations, we can do sleepovers.
What a great thing, spending a day with grands playing games and eating nourishing (ahem mostly!) foods! Great that you captured pics too!
ReplyDeleteGames, family, crafting a bracelet, and good eats....what could be better?
ReplyDeleteYeah! Good to get tougher again and it looks like you all know how to have fun.
