The Helper

In '09 and in other surrounding years as well, we saw a lot of our grandkids. On this day, Danica was likely over for a sleepover, and she was happy to help her amma to water the flowers.

Sue recently wanted photos of someone helping for her daily prompt. When she remembered these pictures, we did a search and found them in the back drawer, as it were, of my photo files. I thought that I would post them as well. I don't think these made it to the blog at the time, but many other grandkid photos sure did.

Danica was two years old. Those were good days.

I'll begin with Sue's new composite and post the originals below.

Look at the Stargazer lilies, below, Margaret. It's a pity that they only lasted for a few summers; they were both beautiful and fragrant.

Danica was and remains a sweet child although as a senior in high school it is probably inappropriate to call her a child.

  1. You're right, she's now a young woman. Love the pink and white series including precious little Danica. Glad you found them.

  2. Wasn't she a little doll! What joy she must have been. I miss the days of grandkids being here too. Our son Derek was often deployed, and we would have his 3 kids here often, either overnight or for a week or two at a time, and once had his son for a year. The others were here every summer, and then there were the family gatherings. Good, busybtimes.

I had stargazers too that didn't last but more than a year or so.

I cannot call them our girls anymore, but they were sweet back in the day. I'm learning all sorts of new terms.

  15. Nice to remember those days. My youngest granddaughter was here all last week. At 2 1/2 years she is quite lively and very verbal. There are times that her pronunciation baffles us but most of the time she's pretty clear about what she wants.
