Brunch by the Tree

On the warmest and nicest day of the year and since at least October, if not September, we took a breakfast sandwich down to the flooded tree. We ate in the car, of course, but with the windows down, it was extremely pleasant. I tired, and we didn't stay more than a half hour, but what a nice treat it was.

I got out of the car with the phone (no big camera for now) for a minute to snap what I was seeing without the car in the way. This is about a 100 degree pano. I imagine the flooding will be over before I can take proper shots. I had been hoping to get a few more at sunset, but I don't think that is going to happen. (I made the image big enough that if you click it may fill the screen.)

  1. Beautiful and peaceful. It is a little reward that healing makes us slow down enough to have a picnic by the water!!

  2. The flooding has been phenomenal. Another storm is on its way, as well. Let's hope for the best.

  3. It's beautiful. And amazing that after all the rain, the sun comes out and then you see the flood, for days even.

  5. It will be interesting to see if the flooding has any effect on the trees.

  6. I see your trees are leafless like Butte, but our grass is also greening. I'm in Seattle where it's about to be full-blown summer with temps around 80. Quite a change. The rhodys are blooming, several colors.

  7. It may be a panoramic view, but it shows like a regular one. Normally they seem to bend slightly and this one doesn't.

  10. Hopefully the rest of your recovery time is without incident. And hopefully we're past the worst of the flooding. I've taken some shots in the city. I think the peak was before the weekend.

  11. Very beautiful....Keep on recovering and the weather will keep on improving, yes, it will. (Didn't mean to imply any causality there!)

  12. Even though this scene shows flooding, the colors were quite beautiful, John. I’m sure you will be returning when the waters recede for an after shot.p once you are completely recovered.

  13. What a nice peaceful place. You will be frustrated not being able to use the big camera but I feel you'll soon be up to it again.
