On our bed. She spent the whole first night there with us, which wasn't expected. |
Abby is 8 years old but seems like a young 8; hopefully, she'll be with us for another 8 years. She's a pretty perky cat and quite pretty too.
Perky and Pretty. |
She is not a lap cat, not yet anyway, but she is a people cat and follows us around. If we're upstairs, the chances are that she is too. Likewise downstairs as in the next photo.
Catching some rays on the spot she has chosen on the living room couch. |
On her second day, she was better able to relax.
She's very brainy (of course she is) because she watches tv, and I'm sure she understands every word. At least she understands that when she hears big dogs barking, she should look for cover.
She really does pay attention to the tv sometime. |
Addendum: The first shot with my Canon, processed in a slightly glowy, artistic style. I want to do better with Abby than I did with Bella. Although I have a few nice shots of Bella, I do wish that I had a few more.
You are the third person I know who has lost and replaced their pet. I am allergic to cats and fear Lyme's ticks if we got a dog, so I am petless...and sad.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Abby! I love cats, particularly their independent minds. Both of our cats are a bit daft, you are lucky to have a clever one. I am quite certain that one of our cats thinks she is actually a dog.
ReplyDeleteshe is very pretty and so are the photos. Message for Tabor: you can get anti-tick medication for a dog and then it and you are safe. you just cannot get it for a human.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely. She is so pretty. She looks like a good fit for your house.
ReplyDeleteShe is lovely. Well marked tabby. A good pick. Sounds like you miss a cat in your lap!
ReplyDeleteShe acts like a dog following you around like that. A beauty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart!
ReplyDeletelovely cat
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new family member! And she certainly is pretty. That last shot is fantastic, showing her off very well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! And she seems to have settled in quite well.
ReplyDeleteAw. I'm so glad. There are many that need homes. Such a pretty face. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteAwww...she’s a beauty! ♥️
ReplyDeleteHugs
What a beautiful cat! She will be part of your family now.
ReplyDeleteDo you know her history? Looks like she has been well cared for during the previous 8 years so someone must have loved her.
ReplyDeleteShe is a pretty and self possessed cat, and being a people sort of cat I am sure she will soon feel as if she has always been there. I guess for a cat moving to a new place is all about establishing new territory - which she seems to be doing if that relaxed sofa picture is anything to go by!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have given a home to this lucky cat! Abby is beautiful and I'm sure will be a frequent subject of your photos. Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteThanks fir sharing the news of the new family member. She looks very settled into her new home, John. You do know that you and Sue will be considered the guests now.
