First a cold wave and then a heat wave kept us away from a coffee time in the park, in the actual park, I mean, and not in the car. Finally, the heat wave ended, and we were able to pull our chairs out and enjoy being by the riverside. The good news is that you, dear reader, are being spared the 600th view of us having our coffee in the car.
We made the effort on this day because our coffee shop, which highbrows call a café, reopened – for takeout only. It seems that their merciless landlord will not be renewing the lease. Hopefully, the café will find a new location and the landlords will not find a new tenant for awhile. This café is where I have photos displayed, and we wanted to show our support for the owner almost as soon as she re-opened.
Onward to the photos. These are all phone photos.

It was a most pleasant break.
This is really fun. I quite enjoyed your coffee time. It's wonderful getting out by the river!
I quite like Sue's outfit. Is that a Pride flag? What a great idea, and sense of fashion.
You look fine, too, A/C!!!
I love that second photo. And those of the relaxed happy people are pretty good too.
The news of the coffee shop eventual closing was nit good news, and hopefully it will reopen at a new location sonyou and your art can be there. Nice to see your faces and the riverbank locale. We have a favorite similar spot here too.
Now that's contentment !
On a different subject have you ever checked out:
Astronomy Picture of the Day Archive 2015
Although a lot of it is over my head (no pun intended) it is an amazing daily photo shot from NASA, often stating the way it was photographed. Right up your alley, John.
What a nice outing again.
You'd think the landlord would realize they had a good thing going with the cafe.
Glad you had a good morning to enjoy breezes and coffee. That's a shame about your coffee shop...so I hope your photos will be welcome in a new and better place soon.
I love all these photos, and I especially like the obligatory selfie. :-)
I'm charmed by the two of you. :) Yes, the scarf is charming, but so is the dragonfly pin.
Wonderful break. Our weather here has also gone dramatically up and down. I am predicting a hellish summer. Great shoes, by the way.
Love the photos and glad you could get outside for a relaxing coffee! That is a shame about the coffee shop/cafe. I'm hoping that my favorite spots stay in business. I haven't been very good about patronizing them. :(
You both look so relaxed; especially Sue in that first photo. Moments of peace to be treasured.
Hopefully the shop opens elsewhere. Having had two previous experiences with bad landlords, I generally expect the worst.
I hope the shop finds another place to lease! How nice you could get out to the water again. Love Sue's outfit. :)
We've had some weather extremes and they aren't pleasant.
You take a good double selfie. Hope the coffee was good too!
You two look great!
Great pictures and a great place to have your coffee. My favorite and very popular coffee drive through here lost it's lease a couple of years ago and the landlord proceded to open his own coffee drive through there. I am happy to say it was a flop and closed. Small town and everyone knew what he had pulled. Our favorites built their own little shop and became their own landlords and thrived so well they built a second shop.
Sometimes there is justice.
Sue's tootsies look fantastic! Love the red nails.
Ahhhh... lovely. You guys make such a lovely, loving couple. That looks very relaxing.
