Back and Full

Not that I have a schedule or even a goal for blogging, but I have suddenly fallen off a bit. My last post (with apologies to bugles everywhere) was on Sunday, and this is Friday.

Back then, I did manage a quick photo post of JJ's tournament, which ended for me with a Saturday evening, heavy calorie meal at a lovely old pub in Kingston. It was the second big meal out in just a few days, the first being that fish n chip outing of which I posted.

I had been pretty disciplined with my diet for two months and probably lost a few pounds although I never weigh in. But those were two high cal meals in quick succession. Then, we had a family dinner on Monday evening followed by a sleepover with Jonathan. Of course, there were snacks.

Come Tuesday, we took JJ to McD's for breakfast, and then we went out for a long planned breakfast with friends and neighbours on Wednesday. When Danica came for a sleepover on Wednesday night, she also wanted breakfast out the next morning. By this time, we were breakfasted out, and I contented myself with a muffin in lieu of my standard sausage and egg muffin plus hash brown. You can get too much of a good thing — or bad, depending on your taste. Finally that afternoon, we were back at McD's for coffee with friends. Once again, I was good and contented myself with just coffee.

This morning? Well Sue has her regular coffee meetup with her lady friends, and I have an irregular coffee meetup with my two photographer friends. I think I will be good though and stick with just coffee. Well, maybe a tea biscuit/scone because they have very good ones, but that's not extremely terrible. Or is it?

I the meantime, maybe I will head downstairs and make myself a very healthy bowl of oatmeal.

I remember having friends. Then, we moved, and they were gone.
Meals out is a big problem. No longer do you have work keeping you in some sort of discipline mode!
Also, it's awful walking, and it's more difficult just moving around outdoors. sigh.

Gosh... breakfast out! Sounds lovely. But I usually only want a coffee and some toast for breakfast. Our local old fashioned diner on Main St has various styles of All Day Breakfast on it's menu, so if I ever go there for dinner, I usually end up having breakfast instead. Mmmmm love that bacon and sausage and homefries.

Eating out destroys the eating plan. I can limit myself to coffee when I go out with friends to the coffee shop however. I always feel good about that!

Oatmeal is particularly good on a cold day.

Well thnks for these comments...I've decided tht I have to skip the "fast food" completely if I want to really, really lose pound or two. So I swore to lay off fast food on my last french fry today. It's such a treat because I hate cooking for one.

Like Barbara … cooking for one is no fun so I do meet friends quite a bit for the breakfast thing. That usually pretty much does it for the day and makes me feel virtuous...can you see my halo?
