While I disappoint myself with my general ennui with regards to my own photography, or lack thereof, after recently posting of Sue's work, at least I am continuing to scan old slides. It is a bit time-consuming because they are not great quality images. However, they are precious, and so I nudge them here and there in edit in an effort to show them at their best, or as well as possible at least. Sometimes, editing results in me turning a horribly coloured image to b&w.
Here are a few of our baby daughters.
Shauna, the oldest, was born in 1972, almost at year end. I shot slides back then because printing was pretty expensive
I do remember hot wheels...a terrible noise they made when tooling around on concrete surfaces! (Probably what kids loved about them!) But they seldom tipped over like standard tricycles! Your little babes are so precious!
ReplyDeleteBig Wheels! My own daughter had a Cabbage Patch one. Your daughters are beautiful. They had beautiful hair.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful it is to be able to relive those years again. You sounds as if you were a very doting dad.
These are sweet pics and a treasure for you to have.
ReplyDeleteLovely portraiture. Thank you for sharing with us AC. Aloha
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! I don't think my girls had the Big Wheels thingie. They had trikes though.
ReplyDeleteNice! Your girls are the same age as my boys.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed spending time scanning old slides and photographs. I sometimes wish I still had more to do, just for the surprise of seeing what the next picture to appear on my screen would be.
ReplyDeleteWe might be able to make a deal. lol
DeletePhotos of our kids in their younger days are priceless.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that you kept all these pictures!
ReplyDeleteAdorable babies. You are so fortunate, AC.
ReplyDeleteThat's Big Wheels. Hot Wheels were small metal toy cars.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Big Wheels were very popular. I always wanted Hot Wheels though, the commercials made them look like so much fun on their plastic tracks. I never asked though, and somehow that meant no one knew I wanted them. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteJust adorable pictures. Thanks for sharing these priceless memories.
ReplyDeleteHow I remember hot wheels. And that big red ball with a handle to bounce along on. But the best of all was bicycles, when they came along.
ReplyDeleteNice retrievals!! Our ED processed a lot of her grandparents' slides and they have precious images for us. The second image up, Shauna in a bonnet I think, would win any beautiful baby and beautiful photo of baby contest held. But they are all lovely. You have a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteI learned how to develop my own black and white photos - money was very tight back then. Pleased to report that I did it well enough that the prints are still viable. I have all my mother's negatives and the thought of that job is just terrifying.
