The Second Booster

It has taken me a whole week to get around to posting about our second booster from last Sunday because I've had a lot of spring blooms to show y'all.

As soon as we could go ahead and reserve our spots about a month ago, we did. I booked mine about a scant 5 minutes after securing Sue's appointment, and that resulted in a time slot a whole 2 hours later. Go figure.

It turned out that the turnout wasn't great when we got there, so Sue asked about me getting in early. Sure enough, they weren't overwhelmed this time, and Sue texted to let me know that I could come on in.

She was already done and waiting her obligatory 5 minutes when I entered. I saw her; she saw me. What joy and bliss!

As you can plainly see, Lacey was with me in spirit.

I was soon well shot and joined her for my obligatory 5 minutes. She had me take this picture with her phone.

For me, it was as easy peasey as the first three C-shots. I didn't feel a thing, and there were no subsequent repercussions. Sue hasn't fared quite as well. While she hasn't been terribly unwell, she has been incredibly tired. It's been a week now, so I expect her lethargy will soon pass as I seem to read of some others having a similar experience and then rebounding after about 7 days.

We got ours several months ago. Both of us had sore arms but that evening I felt like I'd being hit by a truck and retired to bed early. Next morning all was fine. But be careful. This new variant is a doozy as I've heard from my sister and her husband in VA who got it this week despite all the vaccinations and brother who traveled to Israel who got it once back home. Fortunately for him he tested negative when he departed Israel and tested positive once home in AZ.

Glad to see you all got new shots...loved Sue's top! And your's as well! I hope all is well for Sue. I had my 2nd in Feb. It's good people test several times when they think they might have it...and we have a lot of people kicked by allergies this spring. They aren't wearing masks and the pollen is pretty rough on them. We haven't been exposed to much while wearing masks for 2 years!

Good for you all! We had our second boosters a while back and had no reaction beyond slightly sore arms. Still being cautious however. I hope Sue feels better soon.

We have not had a second booster. We live in a rural area and while our cases have increased, it does not seem to be at all like the first wave. We are watching things carefully, and will make a decision if the situation changes. Right now we see no need for it.

We were talking the other day. Social distancing. Remember how strange it felt in the beginning to be so conscious of the proximity of other people? Now it happens quite naturally. We just don't get physically close to others.

I'm glad you got it done. Interestingly none of the men I know had any aftereffects. Women tended to. The booster is much easier to get than earlier vaxes. I set my second booster up and was offered almost immediate appointments to choose from.

We’re scheduled for the second booster next week. I have read from several sources about the effect of that second booster on some people. Better that than Covid…that’s our take anyway.

They make us wait for 15. I think my reaction was a little more like Sue's -- and I can work with that! Beats the alternative!

I had a sore arm and felt a bit tired for a day but am so pleased to have 4 shots to protect me.

We have decided to just hold off for now until a seasonal vaccine comes out or something happens locally to change our mind. Right now life here looks and feels like precovid.

I wonder if our first shots have any power at all? How long will these shots last. I don't mind getting shots but I would like to know how long they are good for.

I'm still trying to get my first booster.

Good for all of us and best of all for you. I'm not myself yet.

5 minutes! Here they insist we wait 15 before leaving the building.
I didn't have one negative side effect of the booster except a slightly sore arm for a day. Scott started feeling rough that very night. Since we both had spent a weekend with Emil, who tested positive a couple days after I took him home, we did both come down with it but are thankful to have had the boosters and vaccines or who knows how much worse things might have gone. -Kate

I'm getting mine this up coming Wednesday. We have low vax rate in my area. Last I know it was little over 30%.

Coffee is on and stay safe

We got the 2nd booster shot about a month ago and despite not having any reactions from the 2 original and then the booster, this 2nd booster had me taking it easy the day after, but all was well by the next day after that.

The shirt is very cute! So is Sue's photo. Sorry she's not feeling great and hope it's already improving. The third shot kicked my butt for 12 hours but the 4th didn't. I did switch from Pfizer to Moderna for that one though.

Well done!

Still trying to arrange my first.

I could have sworn I commented on this.

Yup. I got tired after that 2nd Moderna booster too. However, I can't begin to tell you how grateful I was to get it in time for our trip.
