You've recently seen one set of photos from the dam at Appleton. Those were focused on a fallen tree with a derelict building in the background. These are of the dam itself.
This ↓ looks a little abstract.
I took this ↓ for the juxtaposition of the sign with the ice.

Amazing the power of water, cold into ice sculptures of sorts.
Now THAT'S cold! PS, loved the fiddlin' form your last post.
Some beautiful and powerful sculptures of ice!
It looks a little COLD!!!
I'm not sure I have seen ice blobs like that form in such an array.
Ice can be so dramatic
That frozen bit is particularly beautiful.
That's some amazing ice!!
These photos are excellent. I liked your previous post about the fiddle. Good for you!
Brrrr. Beautiful anyway, but that is a LOTof ice.
These shots capture cold very well. Nice ones.
All the images are nice…. But the first one….. that one grabs me the most… I think…. because I really enjoy images of structures, and the cement dam itself has its own structural beauty.
PipeTobacco
And I see a Trans Alta sign there! How did Trans Alta get there?
I like these.
That is a great photo subject and more so in winter.
