I don't think we've missed for many decades. The tree decorating party used to be at our home in Sarnia with my parents and our friend, Val, and the daughters, Shauna and Allyson.
We are now a long way from Sarnia, and we have it at Shuana's house, and not ours.
My parents and Val are gone and Allyson is far away.
But we still have Shauna, and now we have her kids, Danica and Jonathan.
We trim the tree and have snacks and a light dinner and we play games and talk.
And I think this is pretty darn good.
I wanted a picture with everybody present.
Christmas goes much better with family . Decorating is a good way to start.
ReplyDeleteI love Danica's shirt. I have a fair few shirts, sweaters and pj's, but they are all still packed away. Might have to get some new ones...
ReplyDelete23 days to go!
ReplyDeleteDanica looks so much like her mom.
ReplyDeleteWe do something similar. A fun time for sure.
i AM SO CHARMED.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious family! I adore you all.
ReplyDeleteWe don't really do a tree since Daisy fried ours, and burned her tongue. We never had a party, either.
You have inspired me for a post, though. The kitten killed my little tree lights. What a pain. I tried to fix them, but I cannot see well enough to do it.
How wonderful. Lovely people, lovely tree.
ReplyDeleteYou and your family have a lovely tradition and some great family photos to show, John.
ReplyDeleteNice post AC... you are a cute Santa.
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks a lot like mine- skinny! It's definitely a space saver to have it. I did the decorating yesterday afternoon and the boxes are all now returned to storage bin in the basement. One thing off the list!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely family!
These are such sweet photos. You have a beautiful family. I really do think you and Sue are such a gorgeous couple.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that you enjoy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteRocking the hat, AC
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice tradition! You all look great!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this post? No idea, but I did. However, now I've found it and have to say how wonderful your family is and what a great tradition this is.
ReplyDeleteDecorating the tree is such fun. I always have too many ornaments for our tiny tree (it's a plastic one that does lots of colours, but we're kind of attached to it by now)
