Heartbreaker

JJ and his team, played their final hockey game on the weekend. It was a match of two excellent teams who both played their hearts out. Both the series and this final game were tied after regulation play, to they went into overtime. They were still tied after the first OT period, so a second was played. And the other team scored.

That was a heartbreaker because they (neither team) could have played harder. The intensity of these 8 and 9 year-old little guys was a sight to behold.

Here are some Jonathan shots, but first, this was Danica at the game on Easter weekend. She was more upset than anyone at the loss, but she had wiped her tears by this point.

At the end of the game they still congratulated the goalie (who had just been scored upon) and then saluted the crowd (made up of family). Hockey is a very respectful game, and the boys were brave little warriors.

The final leaving of the ice until next year, but I think there will still be ice time and some fun practices.

That was a heartbreaking loss. The teams were evenly matched for sure.

That's so sad. I guess the kids' games are getting better, I heard so much negative stuff when my kids were younger, though. Angry parents, etc. It makes a 'game' into a war.

Sports are the best teacher about life and they learned how to accept defeat and not quit the challenge

It sounds like a good game, too bad they didn't win.
