Last week, our doorbell rang. Lo and behold, it was a reindeer.
A day or two later, his wife dropped over with a snowflake that she had crafted.
Sue gave it pride of place on the front door. Some photographer or other has been caught in the reflection and various indoor decorations are visible as well.
It is nice to have neighbours think of us -- the older folk -- from time to time. She even finished tidying our walk after the plow had done its job.
I think this is because Sue is so nice and friendly and most people like her. And Sue likes people, which is something that I have great difficulty in trying to understand. ;)
We haven't met our neighbor yet but must get over there soon to thank her for her nice note and the bottle of merlot she left on our doorstep one evening last week. We didn't have any contact with any neighbors at the apartment.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the snowflake made out of? Of course I agree some of us don't enjoy running around being friendly with the whole world. We have to balance out the Sue's of life.
ReplyDeletePerhaps due to the popular Red Green show when it was on the air, many down here, rightly or wrongly, think of you Canadians as a bit crazy. Crazy not in a bad way but in a good, free spirited way. Seeing a picture of you in your Santa outfits and now a reindeer, I'm beginning to see where the label got applied!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be hilarious to see a man dressed as a reindeer walking down the sidewalk but I'm afraid that more than likely someone would call them in and report them to the police as being suspicious.
So nice of your neighbor to give you a snowflake and clean your walkway.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! That's a beautiful snow flake; what's it made from? I'm like Sue, although my love of people is definitely being tested lately.
ReplyDeleteAre you related to my husband. You sound just like him!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that people have been very considerate of seniors during the pandemic. Our snow has been mysteriously shoveled few times.
ReplyDeleteThat snowflakes looks good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot to open your door to a reindeer--LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat snowflake is really pretty.
Neighbors can be a treasure. :)
I have a neighbour with a snow blower and he will sometimes do the sidewalk for me. Not always though. Just to keep me guessing, I suppose. And his wife doesn't bring snowflakes! Ah well!
ReplyDeleteQuite a fetching reindeer, with a very talented wife, it seems. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is really fun!
ReplyDeleteA lovely snowflake.
ReplyDeleteThe snowflake.... is it paper or some other material. It is really beautiful!!!! I like the masked reindeer! The term sounds like a good character for a novel!!
ReplyDeletePipeTobacco
Sounds like Sue is a lovely person to be around!
ReplyDeleteAnd that snowflake is lovely too.
