Canada Goose

Just because I'm Canadian, it doesn't mean I'm a silly, old goose!!

OK, how about feisty old goose? That seems more appropriate for the Canada geese I come in contact with. :)

That's a real funny English saying. To me (as a foreigner) anyway.

There's this question that suddenly popped up: In Holland we always make fun and tell jokes about the Belgian people, as they are considered 'silly/dumb'.
Now the Finns (as I heard from my Finnish Hubby) do the same thing with the Swedes.
Do Americans make jokes about dumb Canadians, or is it the other way around and are Canadians the smarter ones???

Iona. Some Americans have a lot to say about Canadians, especially after we sat out the Iraq war, and now that we have decided not to join in missile defence (for now anyway). I don't think they call us dumb though. Some Canadians might say that about Americans, but I'm not one of them. Just wish they got up here a little more and knew a bit more about their northern neighbour.

Ahh...the beautiful Canadian Goose!
Beautiful that is until you discover the thousands that live and poo on the trails by the water across the road from your parents house on Georgian Bay!

I'm smiling to myself here. I was just about to comment that Americans often mistakenly refer to this bird as a "Canadian" goose. I have yet to see a passport or a maple leaf flag sewn to their feathers. I don't think this graceful and distinguished fowl has any recognized nationality. But Karla is quite right when she laments the mess they leave when they gather on the ground! LOL!!
