If you have been seeing images like this on social media ...
... here's why.
Of course this was a deliberate and classless snipe and putdown. Justin Trudeau is the prime minister of our sovereign nation and not governor of the state of Canada. The US has tried to subsume us before. We play hockey and endure winter, so we are tougher than you think and not it the mood to be overrun. 😊
I have been seeing various posts similar to this ↓ since the election. They make a sort of sense if you think about it: Canada plus the more progressive states of the US might be ideal. It's a fun thought, but of course, we are what we are and forever more shall be. 😎
Certain of my blogger buds might note that Minnesota was privileged to make the cut. 👍
I wish fear mongering would solve problems instead of making political divides worse.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the explanation. I wasn't sure how much Trump's stupid comment perturbed our good friends in Canada. He's so disgusting. I'm just stunned how many Americans voted for him. We need more brains from the Wizard of Oz installed in millions of folks around here. Stay warm. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI haven’t heard much but thre has been some head shaking going on.
DeleteI see your map shows that NJ has annexed Canada!
ReplyDeleteThe New Jersey annexation is on.
DeleteWait a minute! Include Michigan! I heard that Ford threatened to pull electricity from NY, Michigan and Wisconsin (maybe others? Should include Ohio -- they're SUPER red!) if DT goes with the 25 percent tariff. I know I'd feel the pinch but I think if that happens, he should do it.
ReplyDeleteHaving been a neighbour to MI for more than 30 years, I can accommodate you. 😀
DeleteThank you!
DeleteBut Michigan went for Trump. Sadly.
DeleteUgh, Mr. Stupid strike again. So embarrassing and just makes me angry. He better think twice. Those hockey sticks are mean weapons.
ReplyDeleteThey can fire pucks at great velocity too. 🤓
DeleteGoodness. What an idiot. The Orange Buffoon is at it again pissing everyone off. I have no idea how we'll make it through his reign of terror and stupidity.
ReplyDeleteHere in my neck of the woods, I see Trump signs. Some of them are the same ones who are working at places that post a huge sign: Welcome to the site of restructuring ...blah blah blah...The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act by Joe Biden.
If Canada annexs MN, I'll only be 30 minutes from Canada! Nice!
If you're there, then we'll admit the rest. 😎
DeleteThank goodness the states where most of my paternal family live are included. (Excepting the snowbirds, sheesh). All talk that boy, except when it benefits him. (I hear my grandmothers voice in that thought)
ReplyDeleteWe come by our sayings honestly. 😊
DeleteI have always thought a mistake was made when Minnesota became a state in the US. We are hockey players, we endure cold and we don't vote for Trump! We at least deserve first cousin status!
ReplyDeleteAnd we have moose 😉
DeleteAnd you pretty much talk like us I think unless you have that accent.
DeleteThe "you betcha" accent? Not a chance!!
DeleteUS has never succeeded in conquering Canada and never will. Is that moose trying to eat the orange one?
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that Canada has to deal with this madman.
ReplyDeleteI am laughing. Because crying will not help. I am not sure Trump would know what he was getting into if he managed to annex us. I like the idea of peeling off some states and making the country on the map, sort of. Yeah, Michigan in. Detroit is my fave American city. I grew up across the river from it, south of it across the river, in fact.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mary. We just have to keep on laughing.
DeleteHey, that map left out New Hampshire. Don't leave us behind!
ReplyDeleteIndeed not. I've been there.
DeleteProbably just wanting your resources
ReplyDeleteHer wants to turn on the water tap, apparently.
Deletelol. Good one, AC.
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for including Michigan. Then Canada can sell the U.S. fresh water at $5 a gallon.
ReplyDeletePipeTobacco
Well, you’d also need to add Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, and Pennsylvania…… but it would still be worth it for the $5 per gallon.
ReplyDeletePipeTobacco
The thoughts Donald has about Canada are not funny. In his simple mind grabbing some or all of Canada would make sense.
ReplyDeleteIf Ohio could get out from under gerrymandering we would be liberal people again.
ReplyDeleteCool to know. I don't know why it is permitted.
DeleteOh great, what a buffoon. I'm not sure why he thinks this is funny. Probably mad that your prime minister has better hair than him. I apologize for my country. I'll be saying that a lot for a while I guess.
ReplyDeleteHe is a total embarrassment but also a huge danger to our Constitution and our freedoms and security, both as a country and as individuals. As a Washingtonian, I would be delighted to become Canadian. We're close to that anyway, eh?
ReplyDeleteYes, the :Left Coast is pretty similar and close, I think.
DeleteI think my comment disappeared. US has never yet managed to conquer Canada, despite efforts. Long may that last.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing in Spam.
DeleteYou have every right to be fearful. It won't be long and I predict a flood of desperate migrants crowding your southern border, hoping to escape violence and inequity, looking for good jobs and a better life.
ReplyDeleteSorry. I have to joke. The situation is just awful. He's exempted companies owned by billionaires from EPA regulation. Elon is dancing.
I try not to listen to anything about Trump. I try...and I try, but Art did tell me about that Trump quote and I was aghast. What a classless, stupid thing for him to say. Please add Hawaii to your map. We'll go with you.
ReplyDeleteRemember the War of 1812? That twit has likely never heard of it, but we've been through this nonsense before. Canadians endure.
ReplyDeleteI had a reference to the burning of the Whitehouse in my piece, but I decided to delete it.
