Foto Friday

Hmmm ... what shall we post on this Foto Friday? Just for a change, why don't we start with Nikki Dee? Mom recently got her some Baby Einstein cards; each has a picture on the front with the identifying English word, and there also are translations on the back of the card.

Nikki Dee's room looks onto a wooded area. For some odd reason, this little piece of land is owned by the township and hasn't been developed. However, the town owns the land on three sides, and that land is all developed. Meanwhile she has a bit of a country view in the city (or town). I imagine that she'll see snow for most of the next three or four months, and it will look quite pretty after fresh snowfalls.

Speaking of snow, the town seems to be making a better effort at ploughing the sidewalks this year. This is both good and bad, I suppose. It's good to make the effort, but since the roads are given priority, they may not gets to the sidewalks until people have put away their shovels for several days. Consequently, they may have reason to get a titch grouchy when they come home to something like this at the end of the driveway ...

Not only that, but have a look at how one driver ripped up this sod as well.

Have a good weekend.

  1. I am sure she will be reading by the time she is four. You cannot stop kids from learning...just give them good things to learn. We have to shovel our own sidewalks here. When we lived in Toronto, the city did them.

  2. Boo Hoo! Be thankful the city doesn't make you shovel your own sidewalks.

Has the wee one learned the word "prorogue" yet.

  4. Those cards are fantastic! Rachel has a similar set and she would play with them all day and night if we would let her. She knows every single word on them and I think it really helped her develop her language skills.

Snow...I am so glad we don't have sidewalks on our street (we're on a court) because the city destroyed my lawn at my old house. They came by in the spring to 'repair' it; if you could call it that!

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Nikki Dee will love the cards and will learn from them. Kids are like sponges when they are her age and I'm glad she is enjoying them.

In our city/town, we have to shovel our own sidewalks. Makes it bad when I have a injured spine and hubby has a heart condition. We've hired a young man for this year. The grandsons live too far away to keep our sidewalks cleared but do earn a little spending money in their area.

If our snowplow drivers damage property, the city has to replace or repair it. I'm not sure about where you are, but would think in the spring they should fix it.

Thank Cuppa for being so generous and baking cookies for the neighbors. They will enjoy them, I'm sure.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

    Blessings,
    Mary

  6. I was thinking about Baby Einstein for Grandson, does it work? Does she enjoy it? I thought it would be great to have the city shovel the sidewalks--maybe NOT so good!
