Mostly Five Things

I noticed this in draft mode as an unpublished post. I'm not sure who I got it from, but I'm sure I grabbed it because the meme is much like me — simple!, and so it works for me when I am lazier than usual. Sometimes, I have supplied more than the allotted number, but I think we can all live with that. Go ahead and grab the meme if you're so inclined and/or like me, you're fresh out of material. (Why we say "fresh out" I don't know. Why is out "fresh"? Why not stale?)

WHAT I WAS DOING 10 YEARS AGO

Teaching geography to the boys and girls of Lambton County and being loved deeply by all of them for my troubles.

5 SNACKS I ENJOY
  1. Anything salty, like potato chips
  2. Anything sweet and sugary, like a donut
  3. Anything chocolaty, like a chocolate bar
  4. Cookies
  5. Ice Cream

THINGS I WOULD DO IF I WERE A BILLIONAIRE

A billion is far too much for me to contemplate, but I can tell you what I wouldn't do. I wouldn't buy myself a Boeing 707, and I wouldn't try to upgrade my social status because I don't consider it real upgrading. Give me real people any ole time.

Let's just say that if I won an ordinary, little lottery of a few million bucks, I'd split it with the kids, keep enough to be financially secure and do some fun things, like travel without being on a shoestring budget. Depending on the absolute size of the windfall, all extra would go to good places, but it wouldn't all be distributed before I passed on.

FIVE JOBS THAT I HAVE HAD

  1. Caddy
  2. Newspaper delivery person
  3. Production Clerk
  4. Maintenance worker
  5. Teacher
  6. Education Officer in a provincial election office

THREE OF MY BAD HABITS

  1. I can be unassertive and too laid back
  2. I can procrastinate
  3. I tend to be overly reactive to bad behaviour in others, primarily because it bothers me to see people wasting their lives in petty stupidity
  4. I drink far too much Diet Coke

FIVE PLACES I HAVE LIVED

  1. Gananoque
  2. Montreal (the only one of these location not in Ontario)
  3. Mississauga (Cooksville)
  4. Guelph
  5. London
  6. Sarnia
That's it!!!

  3. Very interesting! I love these memes. (You may perchance have noticed that.) So I may steal this one. But later. I think people may be a bit meme'd out.
I lived in London, too, but I suspect not the one you did. My London was in Kentucky (well, it still is, but I don't live there anymore.

  4. I like your answers, but your 5 favourite snacks sounds very familiar!
Like your new photo, your dog is cute. I grew up with spaniels but we don't have a dog anymore, but we do have 4 little boys instead!

  5. So you lived in Guelph--so did my parents for several years ('84-'87). We visited them several times--a very nice town (or is it a city).
I do note that your three bad habits turned into four--hhhhmmmm, as Dr. Freud would say.

  6. Informative answers, I could relate to being a newspaper delivery person - also to having the ability to procrastinate. But the only time I ever set foot in Canada was during a refueling stop in Newfoundland while on a flight to Paris, France when I was in the army - 1960. Maybe I can get up that way again before I kick the bucket. ec

  7. Did I ever mention that I quit Diet Coke cold turkey? I read about it being bad for you, and since then, have been drinking nothing but home-brewed iced tea. I think it saves me money, too.
