Weird but Magical

Monday morning was a bit of a weird one.

Unhappily, it was one of those mornings that began at stupid o'clock with cramps. It peeves me a little that pizza is doing this to me. We like to have it as a treat once per month, and this one has caused some gastro problems. At least that's what I think caused them. As I told Sue, I don't expect or require too much out of life, but surely an occasional pizza isn't asking an awful lot.

Then, it got weirder. Danica texted and wanted me to pick her up at school because she had somehow spilled some oily makeup all over her slacks. I was still in my PJ's, but I was up and out within 10-15 minutes.

After taking her home and then back to school, I thought to take advantage of the latest snowfall as it clung prettily to the branches. I made a couple of quick stops and will post some photos, below, once I have ceased my deathless prose.

Then, it was off to the grocery store to shop for Monday family dinner. Whilst making my way around the aisles, I got a text from Shauna wondering if I could pick up JJ while I was dropping off Danica. Of course, it was a bit late for that, but the boy wasn't feeling well, so I wrapped up my shopping and headed back to school.

Once I got home and had carried the groceries in, I had to take care of a most anxious pussy cat, who was decidedly past her breakfast hour. Sue said that she had been howling a fuss in my absence.

This was my first photo and the one that I had in mind when I drove to this location. It is a bit of the recreational trail that passes through town as it extends a long way both north and south from here — almost 300k in all For some reason, I don't mind the signs and, maybe, actually like them with their splash of colour.

Following are two houses near the same spot. It was just a matter of walking 50 feet or so, either way from the trail in the above photo. The first is an attractive house, but I like the composition of the second photo.

I hopped back in the car and drove around another corner, but I think that I will leave those picture for another post.

It was an almost magical, winter morning despite the weird start to the day.

It’s unfortunate to read that pizza is becoming a stomach irritant, but Grenville sometimes has issues afterwards as well, so our enjoyment is also limited 😕Hope JJ is feeling better and glad that Danica’s wardrobe mishap was resolved. Despite the doubling back, you did manage some nice wintry shots as well as get the shopping done😀

How fortunate you are to live near your family and can help out like you did. Great photos are a nice bonus! Hope you feel better now, AC.

Hope JJ is feeling better. How fortunate you all are to have care for one another. You definitely have much more snow than us ... although that could change today if the forecasters are correct. Pizza, a most perfect food, so I hope for your sake it is not the cause of your upset.

It's what grandparents do! Hope you feel better after the next pizza.

I love that first picture. And Lacey surely didn't starve, but boy do they like their routines!

You seem to be the family chauffeur and problem solver! Too bad the pizza seems to be a problem you haven't solved. Yet.

Beautiful winter shots.

I can imagine Her Supreme Majestrix Queen Lacey would have been quite put out.

It was! Immensely pretty out here.
I like the colour of the signs too. Love the shot.

Oh these are great shots...the last one just says "Canada" to me. Wow you had a very busy day all before Lacey's breakfast. Maybe you could try different toppings on your pizza and see if they are the cause of upset.

Your grandkids are truly fortunate to have you around. So good of you to provide transportation.

I love the way snow looks if I don't have to be around it! That's truly gorgeous, each photo. We're getting a bit today. They threaten six inches but it's a long way to go and it's slacking off so if that's what they expect, they might have overestimated. It does look very fresh for a change!

Your a good grandpa.

Love the beautiful snow shots. We are supposed to get a lot of it here today too.

You were kept very busy! And I don't think that an occasional pizza is too much to ask. I'm feeling that way about a few things lately. Those are lovely pictures; I too like the pop of color of the signs. LOVE that white house/white snow photo.

I agree, a couple slices of pizza now and then isn't too much to ask!

Your day sounds much like my day today. I woke up early, prepared to take kids to school which was delayed, then cancelled, and then off to the grocery store because the leftovers that were intended for my lunch weren't to their liking. I'm not sure what this afternoon will bring.

Lots of good snow shots. Now I wonder what they would be like in July?

Your snow pictures ARE magical, but I still would not want to live up there!

Do you suppose you might have whatever JJ had?

Hope you got dug out.

Good for you for being the emergency call!
I once had a call for my youngest (from whom I am estranged) and I had pneumonia. My ex-husband wasn't answering his phone so they took the kid to Queensway-Carleton hospital. That was epic.
