Sue has always liked to play pretend fireplace during winter. At Christmastime, she would add music while the fire roared. She used to do via a DVD that she purchased more than 20 years go. In more recent years, she has been able to use an even better fireplace screensaver (let's call it that), but they have really taken off this year with all sorts of quite wonderful screensavers.
Some have music, especially some of the Christmas ones, but many don't. Most have a fireplace and snow falling outside the window. Christmas ones, of course, have a tree. Many of them have a cat. Usually, the cat is stationary, but one video popped up where the cat does cat things, like washing and sniffing about.
If you play the video below and listen carefully, you will hear a little meow after a few seconds. But do listen carefully, for the meow is brief and not loud. The video is set to begin at 1:58:40, and the meow happens just seven seconds later. You can scrub backward if you miss it. (Note: you don't have to play it for long to get the idea.)
Love the sounds of the video. You don’t even need to see it really!
ReplyDeleteThe crackling fire video is the nearest I'll get to it. I liked the sound effects, later I think a dog barks.
ReplyDeleteAh, a different approch to Caterday! Thanks for the fun video. Loved seeing you back with dark hair. It's amazing to find out what color hair my white-headed friends used to have!
ReplyDeleteHappy Caturday back to you. I also like seeing what color your hair was back then. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice little cat comment, indeed. I had not heard of fire screensavers, so a nice treat.
ReplyDeleteLove tuxedo guys, and a handsome guy with that one.
Reminds me of our cat Sassy (!977 - 1999). RIP.
ReplyDeleteJohn puts up a fireplace screensaver on his big TV during the holidays. Since he doesn't use his fireplace, perhaps he should leave it up all winter. Love the kitties! I've never had a tuxedo cat. Mari is just an ordinary black cat. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely a cat person.
ReplyDeleteHappy caturday! Ours are watching TV right now: the red squirrels at the bird feeder!
ReplyDeleteMy parents' last set of cats were tuxedo cats.
ReplyDeleteLacey is adorable.
Has Lacey watched the video?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how old our DVD player is. But it works just fine.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
What fun to see a young John. You were handsome then but I think even more handsome now. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have often read and heard that animals enjoyed TV, so this could be further proof.
ReplyDeleteLacey rules the home.
ReplyDeleteI loved that video, and hearing the cat purring and the wind outside as the fire snaps. What a pleasant little video.
ReplyDeleteGreat video! That cat looks like my friend's Mr. Tux. And Lacey! I know what you mean -- I feel guilty that Lizzie isn't quite Gypsy. But she's Lizzie for her foibles and when she purrs, all is forgiven!
