Dawn Dawned

Awake at stupid 4 o’clock. Occasionally, I can get back to sleep but not often after a whole 5 hours of sleep. Sigh.

I made coffee while resetting the modem which had gone offline for the second consecutive day. That was part of what woke me up because the phone vibrated, telling me that it was offline. Actually, it was the thermostat app that was alerting me that it couldn’t connect to the thermostat.

Up and at ‘em, I checked Twitter and maybe Facebook (can’t remember for sure), then I settled into my chair for a brutal game of Sudoku. The daily challenge was extremely difficult. Eventually, I sort of got it, but I confess to making a few missteps along the way. There are so many numbers all over the place at the extreme expert level that it is too doggone easy to miss one, and one omission of even the 5th candidate in a cell can throw the whole game off. Sigh.

Around 6, I looked toward the window. All I can see from my chair is a couple of snowy rooftops with a bit of sky above. But what I saw on this morning, pleased me.

So what had I noticed?

Just that the dawn was … um … dawning. There was some light and not utter darkness — at 6! Yay!

The sun is returning, and that pleased (and pleases) me greatly. By 6:40, Ole Sol was actually rising beyond the curvature of the horizon although of course I couldn’t see it from my chair. There will be a bit of a setback when the clocks change to Daylight Savings next weekend, but that will be temporary.

There shall be much light coming soon to your arc of the globe, at least it you reside north of the Equator.

Ah, a dawning sky! I love seeing brightness when I wake up...hate the cloudy days when I'm never sure it's time to roll out of bed. Today going somewhere, so set my alarm. I kind of like snooze time because I usually dream. So I had a couple of good dreams and then I'm up...frost on nearby roofs today, and it won't get above 40 F degrees. Sun though is very welcome!

I love the bright evenings that come with DST.

I did not know Canada also use Daylight Savings Time. I wish it would go away, but here we go again, one more year. We are noticing that it is light until nearly 7pm. Nice!

I wouldn't like to wake up at 4:00 AM. If I do , I usually go back to sleep. I have problems getting to sleep.

I am having the same darn problem with not getting enough sleep. It's so aggravating. I think I need some melatonin.

Looking forward to having more light in the evening. I'm usually awake and reading by 5AM anyway.

I will be glad when I'm over the loss of that hour's rest. And yes, more light in the evening will be appreciated.

Check out the moon tonight. Talk about lighting up the sky!

I used to enjoy seeing sunrise in the winter when I worked although it meant I was up early and out on the road too. Now I rarely see it since I'm an 8 o'clock riser. Sorry! Wish your sleep would improve!

I'm just thrilled we return to daylight time this weekend. like the light in the morning but I like it better later in the day -- I don't shut down as early when it is still light!
