My camera and I got out to Jonathan's hockey game on the weekend. I did not get the best photos ever, but I did get photos. The game was played in the bigger arena, which oddly enough, is not quite as well lit as the second ice sheet.
The boys are just skating onto the ice. The visitors, in red, are in the background. The home team always goes on second. I had also hoped to catch them swarming victoriously off the bench at the end of the game, but alas, they were not victorious.
On a line change, players jump off the bench and skate hard to catch up to the puck.
I got Jonathan in a shot.
There will another home game this weekend.
It will be so lovely for him to have all these great photos when he's older! What a delightful treasure trove of memories for him to go through.
ReplyDeleteI too was thinking of the great record of his games that you have made for him to have when he is older. What a nice grandfather you are. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHe's lucky to have you as a good photographer! Your pix are always terrific!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots all. I know JJ appreciates you ebing there are recording his skills.
ReplyDeleteLove them skating on to the rink (is that the right word?)! Too bad they didn't win but watching them (especially Jonathan) play must be fun.
ReplyDeleteStill great shots! The team formation in the first pic is just a winner
ReplyDeleteGood action shots!
ReplyDeleteThe clean ice at the skate on is so,slick. Nice capture. And great shotmofmthe grandkid. Light level can be hell. At least in hockey you get a lift from reflection off the ice and a white surface. Top quality, grandpa!
ReplyDeleteThese kids have great fun if adults leave them alone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being such a good grandpa.
ReplyDeleteI am just loving how this is THE game where you are! Here, right now, it's baseball, I guess, but never will it ever be ice hockey. So I am so enjoying your photos!
ReplyDeleteYou are documenting that boy's childhood very well!
