Christmas Eve

I wasn't feeling it very much.

It may be that time seems to go so much faster now. Last night. it just seemed that Christmas should be months away, not just two days.

But we paused to watch our two versions of A Christmas Carol (aka Scrooge) last night, and it began to feel a lot more like Christmas.

And then I took my camera out for a few minutes. I didn't go far, just a few doors away in our neighbourhood. And since we live in a townhouse, those few doors are really close-by.

This is most definitely not a destination neighbourhood for the viewing of lights, but some houses lit it up very well indeed. Although we will be staying with the young ones in a different neighbourhood tonight, I'm pretty sure that these houses will be lit the whole night through, and I like that.

As we live in a mill apt, John, we don’t see any light decorations so these were lovely as is the tradition of leaving them lit all night on Christmas Eve. We used to do that as former homeowners and now we make do with a small tree that will be lit outside our apt entry and our also small indoor tree that’s near the living room window.

Your second shot particularly stands out to me.

Merry Christmas!

Lovely! It's funny - here in the condo complex we're limited to white lights on the outside, which is actually quite pretty. But I did enjoy your photos with the varied colors.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Thanks for sharing these displays. My Dad used to drive me up and down the streets before Christmas when I was little so that I could see all the lights. I remember oohing and ahhing the whole time!

Yours is a more festive neighborhood than mine. Lovely. Also I love the red maples frosted with snow in your last entry. All best wishes for the new year.

They are lovely. We seldom see them here. We just don't go out at night!
