Five Tidbits

Blogger is being weird. Back in the mists of time, I guess I asked for comments to be forwarded to my email. They never were, not more than maybe 3x for the occasional random comment in all of the years. Now, while nothing else seems to be working properly, I finding forwarded comments in my mailbox. Go figure. Note: I wrote that yesterday, and I think the emails ave stopped again already so soon this morning.

For those having trouble getting into Feedly (as an alternative to Blogger's blogroll), I forget the specific signup procedure because it has been so long since I had to do that, but I know that the process isn't onerous. I think what you have to do from there, is to find the url of the site that you wish to follow, and paste it into the search box (magnifying glass). From there I believe that you can follow the site in perpetuity if you so choose. I know it seems like a bit of a procedure, but once it is established, it should work for you for a long time.

We went back to the door in the fence because Sue required cobblestones for a prompt. There are no cobblestones that we could think of in this town, but then, I remembered the little path to the door in the fence. Sue got her photo, and I took another shot because I wanted to get even lower than last time. I don't know why; it is just how I wanted to photograph this object.

With my phone at ground level and me not, I couldn’t see what see the screen, so before I got that ↑ photo I got this ↓ unexpected, funny shot.

======================

I really don’t mean to @ you with every bicycle ride, but we got to the end of our little section of the trail this time, so I captured Sue with the signage when we stopped to turn.

In case you can’t read it the small section up top says Trans Canada Trail.

Only 6k but two consecutive days leave the old legs a bit rubbery. I’ll take some solace in the fact that it is not the easiest riding because it is a rough path, not asphalt. Of course, that wouldn’t have bothered me once upon a time.

One more thing: wild asters were glowing by the watery section when we stopped for a little break.

======================

Sue shot a selfie, or I guess you could call it more of a self-portrait because she set the camera up and wasn't holding it in typical selfie fashion.

I liked it as was, but I softened the background and lightened the facial shadows, just a touch.

===========================

Do you remember the baby that the flamingo lily was birthing. It is now about one-third thee size of the only other flower om the plant. This plant moves so slowly. It has taken more than a month for the flower to progress from being almost unnoticeable to one-third its eventual size. This is truly remarkable to me.

  1. All beautiful shots. I'm trying to catch up to other folk's blogs by clicking on anyone's old comments and following through that way.
    This last shot is so beautiful!
    The other edited ones are fantastic also.

  3. Loved the candid upside down show of you with the door to nowhere. Sue looks quite beautiful and mysterious...in the portrait I mean. I loaded all the blogs to Feedly...now have to try going to them there, rather than through blogger list. Today is testing day!

  4. I'm currently living in fear that all of Blogger will just stop working someday.

  5. I'll probably give blogger another week but if they don't have things working better by then, I'll probably get on board with Feedly.

  9. Hah! Initially I was thinking I was going to see a photograph of five donut holes sitting in a row….. but then I remembered those are TIMbits! 😂

    The COLOR of the flamingo Lilly is amazing! I have never seen such a flower of that hue and shape before. The ones I see in my region are usually about 95% of the time the white variety, with the other 5% (seemingly rare here)…. being yellow.

    I always love the shape of the petals on asters! They seem EXTRA beautiful. When I used to participate in photography more regularly, close ups of the aster flower petals was always a favorite of mine.

  10. I think I'll pass with Feedly.com. I revised my blog lists to just be a link to the blog not a specific posting and it takes me to the most recent one automatically. Of course not everyone posts each day so a quick look at the post that shows up and I can see if it's old or new.

    1. You should be able to see any unread posts of a particular poster. Once they are read, they shouldn't show up again. But this is difficult for you, and you'll find your own way that you are comfortable with.

  16. Those purple flowers are so darn pretty.
    I love the pictures.
    I was having trouble pre-scheduling posts. I would write them and they would disappear. Seems ok now though.

  17. Thank you for the Feedly hint. I've set it up and it is working well.

  18. I love Sue's hat! I've ended up bookmarking everyone's blog I follow, based on the comments I get. One new post popped in today. I can't tell if it's funky or they're working on it. I had the same problem with email comments, which is why I started moderating because they always send them to you then.

  19. Beautiful photo of Sue! Those asters are such a pretty color. I use Feedly and it works well for me except when someone hasn't posted for a long time and I have to hunt down their last blog post.
