Sneaky Sue snapped a picture of me on our daily walk.
Winds were gale force again, so we headed to the somewhat protected trail once more.
There were bits of red vegetation floating nearby (you can see some by the turtle, above): discarded seed pods or some such. I thought they might do for a photo, but they didn't, so on the computer I applied a radial filter as an experiment.
Since that experiment amounted to nothing, let us just move on.
At one spot, just before we turn off the trail into the park, a forsythia (I think it is) bush had burst forth on the edge of an abutting backyard. What a treat to see such bright, vibrant colour when other colour is just barely beginning!
Finally. we sat on the bench that overlooks the river and took selfies for Sue’s meme, one take with the park in the background and one with us turned about and showing the river in the background. I think I like the river image better. The angle and composition are a little different than the more typical head-on-centred selfies.

As you can see, I was wearing my warm jacket, but I could have made do with a lighter one because the temperature rose into the 20s/70s. Of course, it dropped to freezing overnight in this ever-changing spring weather that also featured some very heavy winds and downpours.
Lovely photographs of you both. The second one looks more relaxed.
ReplyDeleteThose "bits of red vegetation" are the remains of the red maple buds. Beautiful forsythia, and lovely subjects, even the old 'mossy-back'! To be clear....I mean the turtle!
ReplyDeleteAs always, the photos of you both are great especially with you in your red cap and Sue's in her lovely chapeau. The weather has been very changeable in Nashua, NH with mid 80sF one day and then 60s the next. We do have some forsythias in bloom.
ReplyDeleteThe grays of Canadian spring are firmly planted here for another few days. How lovely to see that forsythia.
ReplyDeleteI like them both.
ReplyDeleteThat one of Sue against the forsythia is a keeper! And the last one, that's great. Frame-able!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see you playing with the camera...
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos.
I wish you both wonderful walks, which shouldn't be difficult with spring approaching.
Lots of love, Viola
I also vote for both of the selfies, and Mr. Turtle is just being fine with the shines of water - but for you all, the forsythia is just wonderful! After the winter you had, spring must feel very very good.
ReplyDeleteI now wish to walk like an eagle! The vivid yellow against the brown background is stunning. As usual, you and Sue look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you were out photographing in that wind!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great walk even on a windy day you found something fun to see and photograph. I love the selfies and the turtle is just fine. Shooting through reflective water is always a pain. But you did great!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so cute. Love the pictures. I feel the same way about walks. lol
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos...so sweet. The eagle illustration made me laugh 😃
ReplyDeleteForsythia really shout Spring!
ReplyDeleteI admire your fortitude -- come rain, wind, snow (or probably deadly heat!) Well done. I love the photos and I'm so glad you have this wonderful record of your marriage and shared hobby.
ReplyDeleteLove the sideways selfie! It's a great angle. I need to make sure I walk every day; I have no excuse right now with 70 degree sunny weather.
ReplyDeleteNo matter which photo I'd pick as my favourite, that focal point red is quite engaging.
ReplyDelete(Some days I hate my walk too, but never afterwards.)
It is very nice to take a daily walk while enjoying nature. Polariser is a double edge sword in my opinion. Sometimes the glare and glints make a good picture too. Polariser quality might be sub par giving various blue or purple casts to the images too
ReplyDeleteI really like the selfie at the end. You both have a similar expression.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of you both on the bench. Keep going on those stupid little walks!😉
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I see turtles on my walk sometimes, but they’re always under water.
ReplyDeleteWith you on the second selfie shot. Not sure, but the red bits could be flowers from the red maples since those are in bloom. Cripes, that snapper is amazing. W and I spent a whole day of a vacation once trying to get good underwater shots. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteLaughing about Mr Stamping Eagle. No hat, though.
ReplyDeleteGood job doing that daily walk even though you look curmudgeonly while doing it. It's very very very difficult for me to go out on windy days. I dislike it so much. But as has oft been demonstrated, once you overcome that, a good time can be had. xoxo
ReplyDeleteLol. You sort of do look like an eagle! Good on you two! Aloha!
ReplyDeleteThat Forsythia does provide a bright splash of colour. I prefer the second selfie, looks like Sue is leaning back into your arms.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great spot. If I could drag myself off of the property!
