Old Chin on Hand

I was just playing around with a car selfie photo of  me and Sue. I liked my chin-on-hand posture, so I decided to extract myself from the photo, or I should say crop out Sue (sorry love). I had no particular goal in mind: just wanted to see how it would work out.

In the end, I liked it well enough, but “What now?”

I decided that I might as well use it as a new buddy icon on FB. The thing is that I just wanted to quietly and without fanfare change the little image that people see when they come across me. Of course, FB also posted the big version separately, and some noticed: even a former student from the 70s.  Said student is now retired. That confirms that I am pretty doggone old.

I have since switched to this photo in Google and Blogger because why not.

  1. So many of my former students are retired now. Amazing how old it makes me feel! Great photo, AC.

  3. I concur...you have a great smile and are handsome to boot.
It is hard to believe that we continue to age isn't it?

  4. I like it too. What's that bit of tape on your cap?

  6. Nicely done there, sir. The anvil shape of the background behind your head is very appropriate too!

  7. Although your mug is handsome enough, I think it looks slightly like you are trying to give yourself an uppercut. I guess that beats a frying pan upside the head anyday.

  13. Nice guy, nice cap, nice pic. Linda in Kansas (wonder if DJan sees a strip of tape where the cap has a lighter white section on your right side of the cap.)

  17. That's a great photo! I should change mine since it's a few years old. And several pounds ago.

  19. It's when someone says it's this many years since John lennon died - or whatever - that I realise how old I am.

  20. I’ve been considering changing my picture. I have two, and they are both really old. The one that’s showing here is from 1993, and the one that shows other places is from 2005, when I first started blogging. Vanity stops me!
