Our little family celebrated our 42nd annual Christmas Tree Decorating Party yesterday. It used to take place at our home in now faraway Sarnia, but now the tradition occurs at Shauna's place.
Picture are difficult there. The space is small, and the light is low but there is also strong backlight if we're not careful. But we try anyway because it is a record.
The lights are up; the star is being hung, and the tree will soon be adorned.
Pictures are taken.
Pictures are shared.
The ladies did most of the work.
Jonathan helped some and sat some and made faces whenever I pointed the camera his way.
It was done.
Sue will have more photos on her phone, but I do not have access to it in the moment, and I want to get it posted and to move on with the day.
Well, there you go! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is great, fun, wonderful, and amazing. I love that tree and all the fun photos!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun memories are made around the tree...and I've often wondered why boys love to make faces when the camera comes their way...lol
ReplyDeleteOur Will is the same way...Happy week!

Oh, you have one too.
DeleteA very nice event that you've captured for the kids to look upon someday and say, awe, weren't we crazy then? Nice remove of background in final shot!
ReplyDeleteIt's still a poor photo, but it marks an occasion.
DeleteThis is a tradition that your grandchildren will certainly carry forth. The beautiful tree is the frosting on the cake of togetherness you enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteI think and hope you are right and that they carry the tradition on.
DeleteNice tradition. I pulled out my outdoor snowman today so the season is starting.
ReplyDeleteOh, so nice. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of a wonderful day.
Tradition is sacred.
A hug comes from Viola.
Great tradition, love the photos especially the kids. I'm thinking of skipping the tree at my condo this year. Going instead for a lit wreath in the patio doors. Everything in our family goes on at my youngest son's house, a bazillion kids and lots of room. And I don't have to clean. There are advantages to being in my 80's. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that you do this. What a wonderful family you have!
ReplyDeleteYour post gives that Xmas spirit. Feeling it
ReplyDeleteFor you it is after Thanksgiving so not early I suppose. For us too early.
ReplyDeleteTown festivities are ramping up. The Christmas parade is new weekend. It is usually this weekend.
Deletenext weekend
DeleteWe decorate the tree the week before Christmas. The kids really look forward to it. Such a lovely family tradition, AC.
ReplyDeleteYa done good, AC.
ReplyDeleteThat's great activity for a family get together.
ReplyDeleteWonderful tradition. May it continue to the next century.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely tradition. I have trouble taking photos in my younger daughter's house due to the lack of light also.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tradition. Our tree will go up when I get around to it. For the last ten years it has been on December 1st, my grandson's birthday, but since he has gone elsewhere, without my daughter, it won't be done on that date this year.
ReplyDeleteWow those are good-looking grandkids you have, and the one is her mother's daughter for sure, but with her own smile. Love your photo record. Right now Christmas is in boxes in the spare bedroom at our place.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous, Jon and you've put me into the holiday spirit added with a little stress that I need to get a ton of things done. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteYour grandkids are growing up so fast and so beautifully.
So early, but great fun. My few decorations come out when my son is here for my mid December birthday and helps me with them. Mainly bringing the box downstairs!
ReplyDeleteOooo, I like it! Well done to all!
