This week was our second run of the summer with the grandkids, except that it wasn't really. We were to have them for three days — Wednesday, Thursday and Friday — but it didn't quite work out like that.
On Wednesday, Danica came late from a sleepover and then they went out for lunch with a former caregiver. Once lunch was done, she then spent the afternoon with friends from down the street.
JJ and I did play marbles for a little bit.
Come Thursday we drove them in to spend the afternoon with Mom at work. JJ grabbed my camera and took quite a few pictures, mostly of Danica.
And that was it really because Friday didn't happen at all. It turned out that their Dad could mind them, and it was probably a good idea because JJ wasn't feeling all that well.
We will have them for two days next week and hope to do some more biking and maybe go on a picnic.
Gorgeous photos of Danica by her brother? Great job!
ReplyDeletesuch a sweet family. Yes, I can tell that. There is something that's in their faces/expressions that just confirm they are all sweet souls. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. :)
ReplyDeleteGoodness, isn't she grown up already.
ReplyDeleteI loved your 'Friday didn't happen at all'. As if the day was just not there at all. Just from Thursday to Saturday!!
I had the oldest grandie for 2 days this week, always fun. Crazy golf, batting cages, thrift shopping, library, swimming, watching movies, eating. Lots of summertime pastimes.
ReplyDeleteAh. I so miss mine. They are in Paris now!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you now have two budding photographers in the family in addition to yourself of course, John. And J.J. did have lovely young model to take photos of too.
ReplyDeleteWe're having three of ours on Wednesdays during the hols. I say we but I mean I as Husband is refusing to have anything to do with it! I managed them yesterday - on a bus, to the beach, into the arcade, for ice cream and sitting on a step so i'm sure I'll be okay. They're a bit younger than yours but wouldn't have it any other way.
ReplyDeleteNice to spend time with the grands. You have a beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, where did you get that dining room chair in the first pic? I have one just like it! Actually 8 like it!
She is quite lovely!
ReplyDeleteNice to see you all in the middle of the summer heat.
